$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

May not be so easy to get the benefits when applying after the fact. I think officially you need to use the CC for the flight. Though you can probably get them to do it at the airport.

This is very interesting as I just redeemed 80K miles and dont see any refund on miles? who do I contact for this?

Does anyone have experience with AA opening up space in business class on DFW-GRU? I want to book for June on the 77W, but currently only economy is available. Is there a certain time that AA is known to open seats?

I had the same problem on AA from JFK-LHR, and nothing opened up even till the last minute, while there were plenty space there to buy thickets
