$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Are miles debited from account only when reservation status changes to "purchased" or "ticketed"? The status of by booking is still on request and miles haven't yet been debited...
Also, I was told by the agent that it would be ticketed within 2-24 hours. Is has been 36 hours and still not ticketed. There are segments on partner airlines so I know it may take longer, but I assumed that it would just be closer to 24 hours than 2 hours?
They debit after ticketing. I called in to have a reservation ticketed 2 days ago and it is still on request.... ill call them up later or tomorrow.

Trying to piece together an award flight TLV-HEL-JFK. AY (Finnair) has availability on the twice weekly TLV-HEL leg, but none at all (I searched all of April and October) on the daily HEL-JFK flight. Anyone have any experience on this leg, or some advice? Thanks!

I pulled up my EY reservation booked with AA miles on the Etihad website and the following is showing up on top of the booking details. Is that standard because it is an AA ticket?

Call AA or CX.
AA usually gives it when you book it.

I saw that award available a week and half ago, although it's a long lay over.

Thanks. I'll keep checking, although if it's long I guess it's probably not going to work anyway

I booked an award ticket on EY and I have a short leg that I paid for which is on VS however I did all of this via AA. It was on request for 24 hours and I called in to see what's going on and they told me their is a system error. They rebooked it and said it should work this time.
Does this itinerary make sense that it can be booked?

I haven't booked EY using AA but I have seen very similar messages using AA miles on other partners. It basically just means that it can't display the value/receipt of the fare and let you change, cancel etc. using their website because it was booked and ticketed by another carrier's FF progam.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

BTW my AA receipt shows 0 miles paid. Does that make sense?

On a RT PHL-TLV-PHL flight: if I add a JFK-PHL leg and then cancel the TLV-PHL return, I'll just be charged one $150 change fee and receive half the miles back?

Does anyone know if the mileage needed for an Israel flight using US Airways after the merger will be similar to the amount you needed for ElAl or for what US Air is currently asking. When I used mileage for ElAl business I believe it was under 300,000 for two tickets. US Airways is 310,000 for one ticket! Am I missing something here?

USAir currently is 120k (115k for card holders) Round trip. AA currently is and will still be post merger 67,500 OW. I am unclear where you are getting 310k from.
