$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Booked US saver business award TLV-PHL-NYC with AA miles (Booked during the availability glitch). My wife is sick  and we will need to push off the flights a day or 2. Problem is there is no saver space only anytime space in business on that route any time soon.

Is there anyway to get AA to open up saver for me on a flight the next day or 2?

I am on phone with agent first call she is saying has to be available in saver and is searching for space for past 20 min with no luck

Probably not. Unless you see the space on AA.com, they're not going to open it.

From what I've seen arranging before will always have better results than showing up after a missed flight- maybe calling and saying wife is in hospital won't be able to go and seeing if they refund the miles free + rebooking with available space, but I don't know any other options :/
Maybe someone else can chime in who might know.

Be proactive and call before your flight. Don't wait until after.

Took a flight (economy class) from TLV to MUN on Air Berlin, but only got 411 AA miles for the flight. Anyone have any idea why? In case it matters, ticket was purchased on cheapoair.com.

What do you have to lose by e-mailing? Was this in J or Y? If J, you definitely should expect compensation. If Y, it probably depends how well you write the letter.  ;)

Emailed them, and got an apology but no voucher  :'( . Feel like they don't ever give anything to anyone sitting in economy.

What was the fare class?

According to the boarding pass and what it says on my AA account summary, it was a Y.

1. I don't believe Air Berlin even flies to MUN, do you mean MUC?
2. You sure the fare class is Y, maybe it was N, Q, O, G, P, E, W - which only have a 25% millage accrual?

Definitely harder with economy since the broken recliner doesn't have as much of an effect. But I've had success after pushing back in a second e-mail.

I meant MUC. I think it was Y. How can I know for sure that it wasn't N, Q, O, G, P, E, or W?

I even played the pregnant wife card, but no success. Bunch of cold-hearted...

Just looked at my boarding pass and it says "Class: O"

Well that's annoying

So we got spoiled a bit since our last two trips to Israel from NY using AA miles on ElAl. We went business class and really don't want to go back to cattle class. Now that AA doesn't use ElAl anymore our options for a business class flight are very limited. I think the only one we found was on Jordanian Airlines - we'll pass on that. My question is, I heard that coach on ElAl is the worst. Does anyone have a recommendation on better coach seats on a better airline so we can search for saver fares in coach that we would be more comfortable with? We prefer business but there are no saver awards for when we want to go (end of June).
