$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Is there a backdoor number for American airlines? Current wait time  is over one hour
You can have them call you back
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

That's what I usually do. For some reason 50% of the calls are dropped when they call back.
I ask because Lucky has mentioned that he knows a backdoor number, but I can't find it anywhere.

Not sure if this is the number you used, but it's the gold members number (supposedly), so if you didn't try it see what happens: 800-848-4653

That happened to me too, a few times. After 45 minutes of waiting. It was very frustrating. You don't regain your spot in line after the drop.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

An RJ flight isn't coming up on AA but showing up on BA.com means I can call to book it?
Is there any way to pull off this routing with AA?
TLV-DXB-HKG
(TLV-DXB needs to stop in AMM)

I don't know about the RJ flight, but yes, that would be a legal routing.

Or TLV-AMM-BKK-HKG. As long as you don't transit via a third region you are good.

It's not considered a stopover?

Stops would need to be less than 24hrs without transitioning via a third region.
