$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Rep is probably unaware of the new rule. HUCA.
Does the rule include EY?

It’s too bad that this exception is limited to Qatar Airways, and doesn’t include travel on Etihad Airways.

Asia 2 to Europe is only allowed via DOH.

I just put the following on hold: SIN-DOH (QR)-AMM-KBP (RJ) and the rep priced it as 1 award (Asia 2 to Europe) in J for 52.5k.
What's the reason behind this, does 1 leg on QR metal and a stop in DOH give it the "DOH exception" even though it's also connecting in AMM on RJ?

Anyone have an idea  for how to pick up 1500 aa miles in hurry? I have two tickets on hold and I'm just a bit short.

It's DOH.
Thanks

So basically as long as you touch DOH you can route via the Middle East, even if you're connecting through other cities in the Middle East as well?

It's DOH.

According to you, SYD-AUH (EY)-DOH-LHR(QR) = 80K or 100K in F?

Or, LHR-AUH(EY)-DOH-PER(QR) = 60K or 75K in J?

You can transfer spg to your wife's spg account and then transfer her spg to her AA account.  Both transfers will take a few days each minimum... Depends on day of week and YMMV.
If you are on a 5-day award reservation hold, won't really help you.  Better to just buy the miles.

I believe DOH needs to be the connecting point between the 2 regions.

I believe DOH needs to be the connecting point between the 2 regions.

And if there's 2 connecting points, in example: SYD-DOH-AUH-LHR where DOH is the connecting point from South Pacific and AUH is the connecting point to Europe?

Not sure what you are saying. In your example DOH isn't connecting the 2 regions rather you need to go to AUH first in order to leave the ME.

I'm saying that DOH is the point where you are entering the Middle East and AUH is the point where you are leaving the Middle East, both are "connecting points".

According to you, DOH needs to be the Middle East exiting city. If that's true, why is SIN-DOH-AMM-KBP pricing as 1 award at 52.5k in J and not at 60k for 2 awards since AMM is the exiting Middle East city?

I actually found that if I buy anything from ftd florists they'll give 1500 miles. Does anyone know how fast they post?the cheapest thing they sell (a teddy bear!) runs 32 with tax and all, half the price of the miles
