$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Called. Only 1 seat, need a second one. Any other points work on Jet?

United works on them too. But if only 1 seat available, you would probably have same availability there.

Does it make sense that adding an IB flight MAD-TLV to an AA Award JFK-MAD (AA Metal) itinerary would add $100 in taxes and fees

Yes.

Thanks, just to add to my knowledge, below are the taxes added. The flight from the US is AA, which by itself only has $5.60 tax.

How does adding an IB flight MAD-TLV add a bunch of new US taxes?

CARRIER-IMPOSED FEES   $45.20 USD
AIRPORT SERVICE CHARGE(Prev RS)   $26.00 USD
SPAIN
SECURITY TAX   $4.30 USD
SPAIN AND CANARY ISLAND
TRANSPORTATION TAX   $17.70 USD
UNITED STATES
PASSENGER FACILITY CHARGE   $4.50 USD
UNITED STATES
US SECURITY FEE   $5.60 USD
UNITED STATES
OTHER TAXES   $0.70 USD

After a couple of more HUCA's I finally got to a competent rep that noticed something wrong (she said something about the flights only coming up under TAM and not under LAN). Waited 1/2 an hour on hold while she looked into it and she came back saying that it's an issue that has been reported (something along the lines of LAN Argentina not having released award inventory within SA to AA) and that they're working on it.  :-\
...and finally after calling every day to see if they can already book it, they were able to see availability again!

Yes, not everything is bookable online though..
CX is bookable via ba.com but needs to be called in to AA for example

They wont waive the phone booking fee even though its not bookable online. Sometimes you get lucky but usually not

Interesting, the rep told me it would be waived, without me even asking, since it isn't bookable online

-1

AA changed that rule this past February.

The AA Reservations Ticketing Service Charge will be waived for all members redeeming miles for awards that cannot be booked on aa.com"
