$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

I am saying that. The J herringbone seems wider in the leg area than the J. Again, might be in my head
I felt the same way.

I'm not a tall guy by any measure but my legs felt more cramped in F than J.

Trying to book CX F for post d-day (03/22). I'm not finding F or even J at this point. I'm booking for end of March so I'm assuming I'll find J before d-day. If I find F post devaluation will I be charged the 12.5k extra or 40k? Fat chance, right? Maybe??
Any way to somehow get on an upgrade list and pay the miles pre deval?

Consensus seems to be that you'll be charged post deval prices for the upgrade.

You see 20k bc that is during off peak season. For regular peak season it doesn't change in Y (30k). I don't currently see them offering an Off peak season for South America 2 though post March 22.

How about if I find (pre-deval) a route with F availability for post deval. Say JAL or something. Then post deval when the CX F opens, pay the $75 to reroute (keeping the O&D the same). That work? Is it worth maybe ending up on JAL F over CX J for an extra 12.5pp?

AA getting 0 availability for EY even though Etihad guest award is available. I recently read online American was having some sort of issues. Is there anyway to get around this?

The million dollar question....
I would love to get some F use out of my AA miles before the devaluation. I cannot take off till a week after March 22(d-day) for sure.
I could really use some strategic help here.
And for the BIG Q...
How can I guarantee F for post-deval with pre-deval prices? Theres gotta be a way. DDF geniuses??

Plenty of time between now and d-day to find award space and book for pre d-day prices.
