$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

J/Anytime has no relevance. Regular AA rules.

Asia 2 - North America must fly over the Pacific? Even to the East coast?

..reminds me of a q I always had. I know its a bit bit off topic but lets just say Im asking about AAs MPM specifically.
MPM is calculated the way gcmap maps it (i.e. exactly how many miles from one ap to the next even if the most direct is over or under the polls)?
Or is it based on average/"common" routing between the APs?
If a ow carrier doesnt fly direct, is the stopover considered direct or its part of the mpm?

Very cool:

NEW 3RD zone connection allowed on AAdv awards! Europe -> S. Pacific may now connect in middle east if using Qantas. [Qatar still allowed too.]

Cool, though I don't see myself ever taking AAdvantage of it.

I have a better chance finding F2 on JL or on CX?

What are the gateways from Asia1/2 - USA other than NRT and HKG?
