$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Anyone know the following:

If flight is booked and ticketed now as EXP for the summer and EXP expires in Feb and post-(EXP) expiration ticket needs to be cancelled/re-deposited, will that incur the $150 fee or (being that when it was booked the person was EXP) not?

All goes by what you are at the time IINM.

Same goes for ticket booked before status, you can cancel without fee if you have status at the time of cancellation.

If you're a good talker, may be able to cancel without fee even after expiration.

Should I rather use AA miles, Avios or cash for tickets to Boca

Pretty cheap tickets available now to South Florida. If you can make it work, cash would be the best option.

I have JFK-HKG-CNX booked with AA. Can I change it to JFK-HKG-USM stopover for a couple of days, and then go USM-CNX, without a fee ?

1) Don't think BA/AA flies HKG-USM or USM-CNX
2) Anything >24hours will be ticketed as 2nd award

Why are there some flights that have no Saaver availability but when you select Anytime Awards and choose your seat, the entire plane is empty? Aren't there supposed to be no blackout dates with AA?

There are no blackout dates for award travel, but some awards are subject to capacity controls. Meaning that while there might not be official black out dates, there are (blackout dates).

Ah. Got it. Do they sometimes open closer to flight or not really?

With AA you got to check consistently. Check daily, even hourly sometimes. Stuff changes all the time.

Might not offer off peak prices for SA2 after March 22nd. The new chart is updated and seems to have all off peak regions filled out; SA2 is missing.

I need your help quickly, please. We finally decided on going to Scottsdale for mid winter. I checked for AA milesaver flights. They have inconvenient ones for 12.5 each way per person or 50,000 total. To pay for the convenient flight it's either 512.40 for both tickets (I'm gold so free piece of luggage) or 80,000 total miles. PLEASE tell me what you folks think. Which should I choose? Don't want to lose the flight (Hopper says it's only going to go up). TIA
