$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Well they might, except I don't have enough miles in 1 account to book everything, so I'd need to book the SA to ME awards on one account and the ME-NA award on another account.

That's a totally different story.

Can't make the connections longer and tour DOH and/or AUH a bit?
Not as of now. If I do I'd have to take a connection flight from LGA-LAX which sounds equally as unappealing as spending the night in DOH and AUH, but taking AA F nonstop from JFK (and not LGA) to LAX.

But it's good to know that you can book 2 awards on the same PNR.

You can book 10 awards on 1 PNR.

Doesn't seem to be any benefit to doing so though.

So what are the benefits to having everything on 1 PNR? Just if there's schedule changes that affect the trips?

1) 1 ticket in case of any delays, cancelations, ect.
2) Only 1 cancelation fee.

Just to name a couple.

Too bad you can't pay for 2 awards on a single PNR from 2 different AA accounts, or can you?

Well based on the current flights, 4.25 hours in DOH from 23:50-04:05 and 4 hours in AUH from 06:20-10:20. Yes, we'll have a kid, so it sounds like a really not fun night. Would you take such flights with a kid?

It's not about the flight but the hours with the stopovers are (most likely) just gonna be messy with the kid so don't expect to have so much fun in the lounges as you'll be busy with your kid. (I hope I am wrong)

Can't push it out to be closer to 24 hours and get a hotel for the night and a more sane day?

I'd love to, but doing so would mean no flights from JFK-LAX, just LGA-XXX-LAX, which doesn't seem as fun, especially getting to LGA from JFK around 6:30pm. Of the two options, which do you think sounds better? Transiting Queens with a baby but spending more time in AUH (and spending the night in DOH in the Al Safwa loung's private nap rooms) or having an overnight connection in DOH and going straight to LAX in real F?

I dunno tbh. It sounds like you have set your mind to what you would prefer. I just think a) transiting Queens aint that bad. You'll basically be seating in a cab going from a) to b) and then sitting down in Centurion for a bit. Not that bad.
And also, how often are you AUH/DOH and can spend a whole day there and see a bit of the place?

I actually spoke to DW about it, giving her the options before stating my opinion. She'd prefer not transiting Queens unless EY F on A380 opens up. As of now I held Jetihad F. I'll post in that thread soon.
