$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Never mind then. Not for me.
Anyway you have to schlep yourself. Once you're already schlepping yourself, probably not such a big deal to bring your bags along too.

What's the deadline to cancel and get the miles redeposited?  If I book J and book F for 6 months later, and F becomes available for the first flight, can I effectively switch them?  Or can I change the date on the F and cancel the J?

I know it'll cost $150.

What happened to your luggage? You had to schlepp it or they transferred it?

It's really not that hard to transfer between Haneda & Narita. They have shuttle buses that go between the two airports and are extremely efficient. You anyway you need to collect your bags because you are officially entering Japan and need to pass through customs. In terms of the trip that I booked with AA, it hasn't happened yet, but I don't plan on going straight to NRT. I plan on spending the night in Tokyo so I will obviously be collecting my bags (I don't believe I'll be checking anything though).

I have CPT-DOH-AUH-LAX on hold with AA on 1 PNR. I want to pay for CPT-DOH from one AA account and DOH-AUH-LAX from another AA account. Is this allowed or does it require 2 PNRs?

Yes. Doesn't matter if peak/off peak.

What's the deadline to cancel and get the miles redeposited?
To cancel - a couple minutes before take off
To redeposit - a year from date of original ticketing.

But I'd like to spend <24hrs there, not just go from ap to ap.
But this is an interesting and good piece of info, one must collect luggage in Japan even if they have a flight connecting as long as they are leaving the ap?

Not quite. If you leave the airport to sight see but are otherwise just stopping over at the same airport, you don't need to collect your bags (they won't even put them out for you to collect). I will be in Japan for less than 24 hours too, but it'll be enough time for me to see things.

Last time we just went from NRT to HND. This time I'll be doing it in reverse but spending time in Tokyo as well.

Thanx. Appreciated!
One question, just to clarify and recap: You will be taking your luggage through customs because you...
...plan on spending the night in Tokyo so I will obviously be collecting my bags (I don't believe I'll be checking anything though).
or because...
...you need to collect your bags because you are officially entering Japan and need to pass through customs.
... because you're transitioning 2 separate ap's?

In short: If I am stopping for 12-daylight-hrs (or <24 but can carry what I need in my carry on), am arriving and departing from 2 separate ap's, then I still must schlepp luggage. Correct??

2 separate airports require collecting bags. Same airport does not. Length of sub-24 hour layover and what you do during it makes no difference.

If booking an award seat through AA for an infant on CX flight, do I need to make her older than 2 (like for BA) or can I give her actual DOB?

Why not just call another call center?

Worked perfect. (And they're much nicer than the people at the US call center.) Thanks!
