$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Shoot, I'm short 3k miles. Waiting on 50k miles to post from Citi.

You can hold it for 5 days and in the meantime transfer from SPG.

That's what I did. FWIW it took exactly 24 hours, Sun 8:50p to Mon 8:50p for the miles to post to AA.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to book AUH - JFK in EY F, using US number the agent can't find availability. Tried Australian number but wasn't able to dial the option needed using my phone and google voice. Any ideas? I'm waiting for US AA to call me back to try again.

Keep trying AU. US AA will not really see it (I have tried multiple times today).

It's annoying but if you wait till after the menu is repeated it will put you on hold for an agent.

"VoIP doesn't work well with some older equipment that still out there.
If you find that the RFC 2833, SIP INFO, or Inband DTMF tones are not being recognized:
Go to Settings > Advanced Settings > DTMF Type. Change the setting and then try your call again.
Inband DTMF can be sent alongside other forms. This is what the "Also Send Inband DTMF" check box is for."

+1. GV never lets me push an option for the Australia number, but it does for the HKG number. After about 1 min of repeating the menu you just get transferred to someone.

Thanks guys! On hold now. Any tips for an infant award on AUH - JFK? It's pricing at $8.5k ow which is what I'm getting (rt is 11k) so at 10% fare cost it's not worth a third ticket for an infant. Though borderline.

First off EY charges 20% for infants. AA only charges 10%, so book with AA. Second, you may just have to suck it up and pay. It'll be worth it. I'm in the same boat btw.

Definitely booking with AA. 10% is doable at that rate. Best route to TLV is still JFK-AUH-AMM then avios AMM to TLV?

You can book AMM-TLV on the same ticket if it's available. No need for avios.
