$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Since AA doesn't allow layovers longer than 24 hours (unless there's no flight sooner in the case of flights that are not operated daily) I'd guess you're still transiting at AUH. EY may not view it that way though and may offer the chauffeur service.

You're correct, I confused stop over with layover. Hopefully Etihad will give me the chauffeur.

On another note, AA quoted $2k for the infant because Etihad charges 20%. Didn't have the time or energy to explain it to him. Need to HUCA

I was told with AA HUCA for an infant seat is essential since they basically pull the number out of hat.

Interesting. DXB and AUH are considered the same city. Never knew that.

Europe isn't the reason. The reason is because of Australia.

Could be because EY doesn't fly to DXB and EK doesn't fly to AUH, so they consider it the same. Though it's gotta be the farthest 2 airports are from each other and still considered the same city.
