$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Except he wants everything on one PNR for the risk of a redeposit fee
Yep. I'm not sure which way to go. The trip is for August, and obviously I don't plan on cancelling, but anything can happen.
In regard to the free date changes, is there a limit to how far, or how many times I can change it ,

$150 > 10K.
I agree. One thing I don't get is that AA will charge you about $250 to buy 10k miles.

"Def losing"? Throughout 2016 you're not going to be making an AA booking? With the new charts, a 100k redemption should be pretty easy to make.

True true. But I'm thinking along my lines where I split up between a few accounts to always maximize the 10%. What about you, rileywiles23, you plan on redeeming 100k in 2016?

Not all of them, but I kind of have a rough idea, on how much time I have throughout the year to be able to get away.
And now that I'm bezras Hashem going to CNX in the summer of '16, and another small trip, prob. CR, for the winter of '16, there isn't much more time for other travels.

While it is true that I also "enjoy" booking in advance at times, in the world of award flights its simply not possible most of the time .

(if traveling >1pax and wanting premium cabins)

I booked my MLE trip in May. Never thought I would actually end up taking it, but here I am, just a few days away. Having booked pretty much the most efficient flights for this trip, I kind of got bored because I had nothing to play around with.

Some of the best trips are when you depart without having a return flight yet! :)

As mentioned, it is a lot easier for one passenger to do that. Though I went through that on my trip to Japan last year.

I did it with 2.

And the most fun trip is booking a flight while driving to the airport.:)

That's kind of how I felt having booked CPT-DOH-AUH-LAX. Now that I changed to CPT-DOH-AUH-JFK//LGA-CLT-LAX I can spend the next 6 months waiting, hoping and praying that AA releases space JFK-LAX non-stop, or that better routing opens up. Fun times!
