$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Looking to fly from NYC to Hanoi and Siem Reap to NYC all business in 10-11 months. What is best option with reasonable availability? BA/AA is showing no availability for some reason.

Is this something new? I booked on AA J from jfk-lax on AS for 25K while AS charges 40K for the same? (Is that because AS considers it "F")

I found a last minute flight phl- fll with a stop in Charlotte on AA on BA. They have only 4 business tickets left for 30k points.  I dont really want to spend that going to fll. How possible is it that the flight will be full and I'll be able to give up my seat for points or money?

I booked an AA domestic award flight and cancelled within 24h.  Do I really need to call to reinstate my points, or will it occur automatically? Seems archaic and PIA.

That makes 3. Lots of AA points. Never seems to be an efficient way to spend them.

Flew tlv-lhr-jfk on AA miles in J.
Tlv-lhr was BA metal, lhr-jfk was aa (much lower yq than ba on that leg!)
Interesting thing was that I got miles credit for the BA leg even though it was an award! Not complaining, just wondering if this is expected?

Same experience. Seems to be a glitch.

On the way back from MLE, I have AUH-JFK booked as a ow in F on a tuesday as that was the only day available in F, which gives me only 30 or so hours in AUH. I really would prefer to return on wednesday giving us an extra day.

No guest saver is available, however on EY it shows that 3 F seats are available for booking with their miles.

If I want to get this switched (i"d be willing to pay a few hundred bucks, nothing more) What's my best way of going about it?

TIA!

EY always has their seats available for miles, it's over 1MM though, if it's not available for guest seat then you're SOL.

Rumors are that Etihad will be leaving their partnership with AA, per Richard Kerr via FB...

“RUMOR: Etihad to join Star Alliance, leave American partnership. As early as the end of March.

Multiple sources leaking this info, seems semi-solid at this point. A lot of ramifications obviously but I expect the larger blogs to pick this up by the morning.

- If you are looking at Etihad avail to book with AA miles. BOOK NOW
- Expect availability to disappear tomorrow/Monday or Etihad to immediately cut off AA bookings.
- I can see a situation where Etihad makes A380 apartments not bookable through Star Alliance partners; a la Singapore.
- IMO this is a move for Etihad to extract themselves from the current financial hardship.

No other details at this point and this is by no means confirmed. Will keep this post updated as we go.”

In their hardships ending this relationship will do little help, and joining *A will only add to the financial burden. Seems like either just a rumor, or a not well thought out plan, scraping the bottom.
Fingers crossed.
