$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Is the new AA award search an indicator that they're moving towards dynamic pricing?

Noticed that as well. ORD-MSP: 65k OW. A bargain!

I think you're confusing Web Special with SAAver. It seems like there are Web Specials on AAnytime awards now...

Either way, this is starting to look like AA is going Delta on us. ...except for the service and operational reliability of course.

You're correct. I didn't realize the web special was anything different than a discount on sAAver.

Any way to combine 2 flights that have availability so that I only pay the miles as if it's a stopover?

Book the second one on hold and call in to add first if you cant do it alone online or vice versa. If its the same mileage obviously.

Can you be specific on your routing. I'm talking about lets say flight 1 is NYC-LHR in J and second flight is LHR-TLV in J. If booked separately or even as multi-city they would be 57.5k + 42.5k miles but if booked together they would be 70k miles. If layover is over 24 hours then you will pay the separate awards.
