$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Not sure answer to your question, but you can go on this thread, and purchase MVP status for Aaskaair. They allow their gold 75k members to "gift" MVP status to someone else. Getting that status allows 2 free checked luggages per person.

If I booked a mileage ticket through AA that's through Alaska air, will I still get free checked luggage with AA credit card?

Just learned the hard way that AA hold is worthless for QR.
Apparently this is old news for QR and EY but I never heard it so figured I'd share.
QR is levels worse than EY.

I'm not saying every time it'll happen. I've held also no issues. I'm saying that they can and reportedly do pull even they held. So better to ticket sooner rather than later

Booked a round trip to Europe with miles, and called to  add infant they are charging me over $200.
Even though the ticket price is about $900 (so 10% would be $90).
Anyone with experience?

you are lucky its not more!
Yes it stings though. I usually put AA on hold and call to find out infant fare beforehand. Or book with BA and infant is 10% of miles!

American is not alone on this one. I believe several other airlines have the same policy

Was playing around with web specials a week ago and noticed very random things in their pricing. A round trip would calculate differently than 2 one ways (for the same flights) and even the round trip pricing would sometimes be based on the cheaper segment and sometimes on the more expensive one.

Anyone else encounter this?

Don’t book flights on British Airways.
