My kashrus contact advised not to use the flavored pods, as the hashgacha is not reliable. Unflavored would not be a problem. (worth noting that there is also no updated certification letter posted anywhere, although it's possible you could get one by emailing Nespresso)

since the original Nespresso pods are very expensive, Does anyone know what off brand makes good coffee pods? also would like to have some decaff and hot chocolate options

Dan, since a large % of your readership are Chassidish and Yeshivish who I'd venture to say if they asked their rav/kashrus expert they would be told this Hashgachah is not reliable (they don't meet the standards of the main US hechsherim) and therefore should only used unflavored,  perhaps you should post a disclaimer instead of just simply writing it's kosher parave.

Based on feedback I got from people in the field of Kashrus, that is an understatement. It is considered worthless.

Some are, I believe it's obvious when it's flavored.

yes. Some definitely are. Like Vanilla,  Caramel,  Cookie etc. Prob all on the pods on the not for Passover list.
Additionally,  IMO giving credence to a non reliable Hashgachah does make it worse.

I wonder what would happen if DDMS posts regarding Nespresso would have wording to the effect that "While there is a Kashrus certificate, many experts in the kashrus field say it cannot be relied upon, yet they say that NON-FLAVORED coffee should not present any kashrus issues."

Would it actually cause Nespresso to seek a more reliable certification, or will it just prompt a lawsuit against DDMS by the certifier?
