Nespresso - Master Thread
« on: September 12, 2014, 12:24:38 PM »
Keurig has one so why shouldn't Nespresso.

I am looking into using "off brands" for my Nespresso machine to cut down on costs.

The most popular off-brand is Hi Line, based in NYC, that charges $.45 per capsule compared to $.65 - $.70 for Nespresso.

As far as kashrus, they list themselves as being under the Cape Beth Din under the direction of Rabbi D. Maizels.

Has anyone ever heard of this hechsher or have more information on if this product is comparable in taste to the Nespresso capsules?

Didn't know there were knockoffs, if you try let us know how it is! Although the main reason nespresso is so good is because of the quality and taste of the coffee. I can't imagine anyone replicating that. ( like in Keurig u have tons of companies but they all taste different

Ask someone to bring you the caffe Joe capsules from Israel.
They are excellent and are half the price of the Nespresso ones
it CAN be done!

Best price on Nesspresso pods? (Request)
« Reply #5 on: June 28, 2015, 12:41:33 PM »
Where can I find the best price on genuine Nesspresso pods?

It would appear that the cheapest price is currently from Nesspresso direct. Any other ideas?

(I can wait for an Ebay discount code and go that route, but I'm looking for the best price straightforward).

The best prices are only from Nespresso.
You can also try some of the other brands.
One brand I tried was pretty good and was only 50 cents a piece for the original line.

I would just be careful about the kashrus of the other non-nespresso pods.
I have spoken to Hiline Coffee in trying to determine their kashrus status and have been given a  run around as their certificate they use does not show their company and the certifying agency is hard to get a hold of.

I just bought a Nespresso machine on Sunday and am looking for the same info. I noticed that on nespresso's website, they have a promo page here https://www.nespresso.com/promotion/us/en/springpromo15. While the promo for the US is expired, if you change your country to Israel it appears to offer up to 200 free pods https://www.nespresso.com/promotion/ch/en/springpromo15. I tried signing up for the promo but its not recognizing Jerusalem postal code. Any ideas? Or any other promos that anyone knows of?

The 200 free pods with purchase of machine expired a while back.
The only current promotion I've seen  is ' Buy 20 sleeves get 2 sleeves free (1 ristretto and 1 arpeggio)'
There is no promo code. If you become a club member the promo will show up on your page and you will probably get an email as well.
It's not a very good promotion but it's better than nothing...

A friend of mine makes Nespresso capsules, and IMO the coffee tastes great.
I think it costs about 50 cents a capsule, I'll be buying personally when I run out of $500 Nespresso credit ;D

Apparently not in Israel though, unless I'm understanding wrong.

How'd you get THAT?

When there was a deal on the machines, $200 for the machine and frother plus $100 nespresso credit.
I bought 5 machines, redeemed the credits.
Waited for the credit promo to expire and sold 4 machines on Amazon for $265-275.

Eta: also got a $100 Macy's gift card because they originally forgot to ship a machine.
