Properties not to use these for if AH wont check in:

1- IC HKG
2- IC Dubai per 12hrs
3- I had issues at the IC Paris. They only let me check in after the account holders emailed the hotel with their passport info and permission foe me to use their free night.

WARNING:  Don't  do this transaction with     (nuttha_s).  This person has defrauded two sellers recently. He repeatedly calls the hotel pretending to be the account owner, then during  check in, he checks in with multiple people and hotel cancels the reservation and you will end up with loss of your free night cert and hotel will even charge you cancellation fee.  Something very fishy.  What really is going on is very suspicious! I added the 2nd guest name he wanted via IHG rep on phone  He will then dispute the payment with paypal  for full refund. Won't settle or compromise. In the end, you lost the free night and the money he paid you is gone with paypal dispute..  He or she may come with different nickname but remember he is she is based in Thailand.

Anyone have experience with booking 3 night separately for a combined reservation?

I used 15 nights from 8 different accounts for 3 different rooms on one 5 night stay.

Each night needs to be a separate reservation. In this case at this place in Montego Bay, we needed to check in each day, at least for the separate accounts. When there were a couple of nights in a row from the same account they may not have needed us to check at the front desk each time. We didn't need to move rooms or check out each night or anything.

Glad you saved money and it worked out but seriously stuff like this will kill it for everyone.

Then there wouldn't have been a problem because these were all my and my adult children's free nights, except for one night from someone else, and we were all there on the family vacation.

Actually, thinking back to it, it was 4 rooms, 7 card holders with two free nights from many of them, along with point free nights, as well as purchased the remaining nights with Flexperk awards. I think 21 nights in total.

If all the AHs were there then you do not have a good DP

I guess this is a buy/sell forum so I should have assumed the nights the op asked about would be purchased.

In my case 7 AH were there, one not. There was one extra free night which I bought.

Are there any DP where someone was refused when AH was not there?

In general each night needs to be a separate reservation, so even a 4 night stay by person/spouse would take 4 separate resv.

I also contacted the hotel in advance as I recall to see if they could combine the separate resv and they said they couldn't, but they would take care of it there and it was all fine. They had no problem. We had many of us staying in different rooms from the particular person who's night it came from due to the way it worked out, etc. But the hotel was all fine with it. There wasn't a hint of a question.

Has anyone noticed there isn't the ability to add additional guest information to the IHG reservations anymore? You can see a thread on FT about it. It was appearing and disappearing for people but seems to be totally gone now.

Selecting the hotel brand at the top and searching from there brings the additional guest selection button up, but you can't do that and then be able to use the free night.

Normal bookings on IHG, even for cash, do not have the additional guest info available.

I don't think I can book and call in additional guest either when I tried that in the past.

It can? Having 7 credit card holders show up and use their nights can cause it? Amazing.

Come on Sams, I am waiting to hear your impeccable logic how my legitimate stays by family who didnt even use additional guest on reservations caused this?

I notice some hotels have the Additional guest option and others don't. For example in Miami, IC has the "Additional Guest" and "Special Request" options and Kimpton, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn do not. Also doesn't matter if you are doing a cash or reward or free night stay. You can't add additional guest info to the cash stay either in the cases where it doesn't pop up.
