I use 4 diff in Japan, my name is on 2nd guest and I even email the hotel to combine booking, they did it for me smoothly.

Out of curiosity, does the annual night now not let you book if it's outside the 1 year period? I know it used to let you book beyond the year, you just couldn't change it, but is that not the case anymore? I checked on 2 accounts and if I try booking for a night that's after the expiration date, it won't let you use the free night certificate.

I have two uncapped free nights available for $170 each.  They are from separate accounts, both Platinum.  They expire on 9/2019 and 11/2019.

How does checking in under someone else's reservation work when you're added as a second guest and you're traveling with someone else?

Scenario:
Room is booked for two people, account holder and Guest 2.  Guest 2 checks in with Guest 3 (mother).  This isn't a US hotel so they'll be asking for passports I assume and will they question why the AH isn't there?

I also have a second night there booked under the AH's wife's name with myself as the second guest as well.
