Apple Pay
« on: September 16, 2014, 08:21:18 AM »
Anyone have any info on whats gonna happen with apple pay..?
Seems to me that if the rumors are true - .15%/transaction is very very low...
5000*.015=$75...

Would love a new way to liquidate GC...

Why would you need to swipe a GC? Just swipe a CC directly. Except, of course, that people doing that on Square got shut down. Perhaps if you're account only swipes your wife's CCs and vice versa, it'll work.

Of course in the beginning they will have cut throat rates. However, once that period passes, they will raise their prices to Apple standards :P

I dont think thats how its going to work I think apple just gets .15% of every transaction from the bank/cc which either means that the merchant fees will be higher or the banks will just take the extra hit

+108 I've reviewed lots of merchant credit card agreements and those prob won't change, apple will just get a .15 off top of transaction fees charged by cards against merchants. Alternatively, merchants signing on and getting the ad exposure as early adopters may pay the extra .15 over the credit card fees. But u won't be able to swipe your card on an iPhone for less than 2.7 prob.

.15% of $5000 is $7.50 not $75. It's really very very minimal per purchase but will be millions for Apple.

Why not apply within 90 days of the end of the year and then, if there's a bonus, ask for a match.
