Oleta river state park has biking. I went to pompano beach for jet skiing but many hotels on Collins rent them

+1 pompano usually has a cheap Groupon/living social   oleta rents bikes I thought you have to bring your own.

Good to know, thanks. There's a place in South Miami that rents tandem bikes for more of a casual biking experience, oleta if I remember is a little more intense.

Or jet skiing which is even easier.

No jet skiing at ski rickson, also time wise jet skiing occupies an hour of your time. Ski rickson several hours (for less money). I understand that it's a different experience, just laying out the different options and price points.

Oleta has amazing kayaking as well. Not amazing as in adventurous more as in peaceful and stunning.

Everyone has different definitions of what that means. Def wouldn't personally suggest any watersports on a weekend or holiday. Weekdays are at your own discretion.

thats what I liked about pompano that it wasn't off the beach. It was on an inlet with no beaches around. Direct parking lot to water with not a jet ski in site other than ours

Short review of Butcher Block Grill, a new steakhouse that just converted from non-kosher to kosher in Boca.
I went there for dinner last night to try it out.
We had:
Samosas. 5/5. Delicious potato filling and perfectly fried with a chipotle mayo and chimichurri sauce.
Sweetbread tower: 3.5/5 This was a stack of sweetbreads, caramelized onions, and flatbreads. The sweetbreads were a little chewy and lacked some flavor and the flatbreads may not have been the best accompaniment to the sweetbreads but the onions were fantastic and overall it was a very good dish.
Matzoh ball soup: 3/5. Had great flavor but was a little oversalted.
Pepper steak. 4/5. Perfectly done piece of meat with a cracked pepper crust and a sauce. Did not come with any sides, which was a bit odd.
Beef brisket sandwich: 3/5. This was served on a challah type sweet bread, which did not go well with the beef brisket inside. The beef inside was well made and not chewy, which is always tricky with brisket. This also came out with a hot tomato inside which, combined with the bread, was an odd combination.
Lamb Burger: 4/5. This a great, juicy burger with excellent lamb flavor and made very well. My only gripe with this was that it had onions cooked inside with the meat, which I feel took away from the texture of the meat, and that it did not come with any sauce in it. I added some of the chipotle mayo from the samosas and that really took it up a notch.
Chicken Brinjal: 4/5. I did not taste this but our babysitter said it was excellent.
Chocolate torte: 3.5/5. Good chocolate flavor but the texture was a little too gooey and I feel like it would've been much better served hot.
Apple cobbler: 5/5. This was an absolutely delicious hot apple strudel served with ice cream. Yummy!
I also got a glass of wine which was served in a large glass with a least two generous servings inside instead of one.

The service was excellent and attentive and the food was made very quickly.
The prices were also very reasonable, especially for the appetizers.
The ambiance and decor is also great with a huge outdoor seating area and a detached bar and bar menu.
After we ate, the manager sat down with us at the table and listened very attentively to our constructive feedback about the dishes we ate. I got a very good vibe from that attitude as opposed the usual lackadaisical attitude you get from other kosher places in South Florida.
This is a restaurant that is still figuring things out as they just opened but they deserve a solid 4/5 and I would not hesitate to go back.
