no I never stayed there. But I'm pretty sure it won't come close to those 2 hotels.

I don't think that's nosy at all. I'm here to share information. We had a really nice time; TR to come iy"h. It's got a funky style to it (perhaps it's art deco, not sure), but it's not exactly a luxury hotel, which I imagine St. Regis and W are - although I haven't been to either. I'm not sure what DSU gets you, but even with Diamond, a non-DSU stay was only able to get me upgraded to a Partial Ocean View (1 level up from City View). It was a disappointment due to the lack of view - can't see the ocean if you tried - and because there were plenty of higher rooms vacant during our stay per Hyatt.com. The pools were some of the nicest we saw as we strolled on the boardwalk and saw other hotels' pools. They also have a nice beach setup, but I imagine most of the hotels have similar. We loved the service - everyone was very friendly and kept checking on us, and the Kosher Diamond breakfast as you saw above was really nice. Rate was about $270 for our stay, but I still used 25K points. No need to get into that now, we all know I have a different way of viewing my points. Being walking distance to many restaurants and Chabad was very nice as well. Not sure what options are near St. Regis or W. Sorry I can't compare it to other hotels in the area, but I hope this still helped.

No, we took an Uber from the airport. Very Shabbos friendly. Lobby is manual to the street and the pools. Staircase is easy to access right next to doors that lead to the pool. VIP Manager emailed me asking if I would like to be on a low floor - even before I asked! Rooms are electronic, so you just do the tape trick. Lights and A/C are manually controlled and no sensors on the balcony door (all that was in my room, not sure if other rooms are different). You can always call up to find the room type that DSU books into and then look at pics online.

Ok cool, thanks again for all the info! Will prob choose this place for my next shabbos stay. As per DSU- FWIW to any others interested, someone on tripadvisor said it booked into the miami suite, which from Hyatt's website seems to be a pretty basic room with a city view

Ah, that's too bad. I also spoke to the hotel today and they apologized about not upgrading me. Hey said they thought it was more important to me to be on the 2nd floor rather than have an upgrade, so they kept me low down but there was no upgradeable room available on that floor.

Now in the summer the price might be to good to pay 30k, that makes the value pretty lousy. I was just in the W FL very nice place, great staff, though do not expect an upgrade from them.

as a platinum my brother in law using my account was upgraded to a fantastic suite which is 900 square feet.

Just got back from there and as a gold they did upgrade me to a junior suite.
Also I got a free bottle of kosher wine for being a gold member/ and she asked if you are here for any "special" occasion I said yes, she never even asked what occasion.
Though they did try to upsell me to a better one for $350 a night but I said no.
It was an interesting formula that was used, going rate of the suite minus 30%, then minus how much the room you are booked into is going for.
Only charge I had was for Valet of $47 a day.

SRBH seems to have a handle on their Jewish customers pretty well they know all about Shabbos, low floor and sensors etc.
and even in the restaurant there is a "kosher style" menu....
Also they have all the info about the kosher restaurants in the area, and you can order through them kosher meals from a local place.

It has very good TripAdvisor reviews - but I can't give you a first hand recommendation. He was good to work with but wasn't available the time I wanted last time I was there.

Just had nice shabbat stay at the Sheraton Miami Airport.
As a Gold they gave me a club room (club access)
4pm checkout was nice.
Had a flight 9:48pm.. shabbat was over 8:55 was by the gate at 9:10
Nice canal in the back with turtles swimming about, as well as the occasional Manatee.
Pool is small but well kept and nice.
Was a good stay at $85 a night especially with the late check-out.

For free rides around South Beach to 41st street and downtown to Wynwood a great option is FreeBee. Uses it today (5 passengers) from Wynwood to NE 2nd Ave and 23rd street (bunnies cakes). Store ended up being closed, the driver brought us right back.
All free, nice to tip the driver though.
Download the FreeBee app.
Some cons is that cars are not always available or it may take a bit for drivers to respond. We waited about 11 min. They come in a 6 passenger golf cart. I believe there are other options as well.
