JJ1000's list of top restaurants and dishes in Miami:

1. Backyard BBQ (New chef in mid 2017 totally new menu): Burnt ends, 2nd cut brisket, Dinosaur Rib, BBQ Sundae, BBQ Burger.

2. 26: Sushi pizza is  a must I prefer it with baked salmon, then the Passion Mojito, Sushi Teriyaki tempuraed, Cilantro Aioli dip and truffle fires, all of their soups are good. Miso Bass is incredible as well.

3. Harbour Bistro, new menus in early 2018: Chicken and waffles just perfect, duck a l'orange pot stickers, millionaire ramen, lamb shank, charcuterie platter if that's your thing... Also serving brunch, Chicken and waffles again, eggs Benedict with bacon on top,

4. Fuego: Flatbreads are a must, then the back ribs, pastrami egg rolls, smores dessert, perfect date drink are good. (Update March 2017, the app chef and bbq chef isn't there anymore and the quality has been spotty from recent reviews.)

5. Zak The Baker. Menu changes too often to recommend stuff. Not Cholov Yisroel.

6. Kosh: Chocolate souffle and korean beef with extra sauce are good.

7. Rustiko: Spinach and Artichoke Dip, (Quinoa Salad is very good), (Pappardelle Mushroom if lunch), Mushrooms Panzerotti is an absolute must order only down side is it's a dinner only item. Oreo cheescake dessert but make sure it's fresh.

8. Harbour Grill: The Harbour Grill Filet or TheKing Reserve steaks are great. Supreme Burger is very good as well.

9. Pizza type options:

Foozo: Foozolis, the caprese foozoli with extra balsamic sauce and garlic aoili, their pastas are good as well.

Jerusalem Pizza: Best plain pie, get it fresh in store, coated fries good as well.

Lenny's pizza: Gan Eden Pie.

Also notable unique places are The Freeze which makes ices, serendipity makes ice cream (there is one next door to ZTB now), and Miami Beach Chocolates turtles and bark now also in Surfside!

#2020 Restaurants with outdoor seating

They both daven standard times (10 min before shkiah mincha/maariv. 9:00 shacharis shabbos morning. Weekday davening is probably 8 or 8:30
Was there last week. Shul was full.

Shachris during the week is at 8.

Mincha/Maariv was 6pm. (I assume it varies according to the zman)

Fri Nite was 6
Shabbos Mincha 5:45
Marriv Motze Shabbos was at 60 & 72

You need to enter thru the parking lot entrance, which is locked except by davening times.

What are the options for Shabbos meals in the Surfside area?
We had dinner (takeout from Kosher Kingdom) in our suite at the Residence Inn (as did many guests on Friday night). The hallways smelled of heimish food and cholent throughout shabbos and many rooms have manual keys (and for those that don't, staff is more than happy to operate the doors). Kosh, Harbour Grill and Harbour Bistro all offered shabbos takeout options.

The Shul hosts Friday night dinners (check their website) that you can pay to attend as well if you're into that sort of thing

Thanks, looks like we may be stuck here due to the storm

On the bright side, there are worse places to be "stuck" than south Florida in February.

I've gotten a few inquiries about Turnberry via PM so I figured I will write a bit more about the place here.

Firstly, we really enjoyed the hotel stay. The room was very nice and the setting was very relaxing. The entire grounds are beautifully landscaped and spacious which makes it a much nicer setting than some of possibly nicer luxury hotels The downside of that is the need to walk a potentially long walk to get to your room. The service in the hotel was excellent. We aske for a fridge at the desk and by the time we got to out room someone was there holding it. We forgot to ask for a crib at the desk and called for it and the crib was in our room within a minute of when we got off the phone.

We used the valet parking. Each time we were leaving we called the valet desk and by he time we got to the front our car was waiting for us.

We had a "Golf View" room. With a resort view room you may want to keep in mind that the room may be overlooking the pool in the center of the grounds. Also, there is a possibility that you may need to go through the pool area to get to your room. We needed to go a bit on the outskirts of the pool area but nothing major.

Below is an image from Google Maps. The entrance to the hotel is where it says  "Turnberry Isle Miami" with the bed icon and our room was in the buiding on the bottom right. You can see the pool in the middle. You can also see the Residence Inn on the left across the street. I included Kosher Kingdom on the top left (assuming Google has it correctly-we did not go there) for reference.
