So I don't normally post a bad review but oh man, I bit into the grossest stuff I've ever had in a restaurant last night.

I got a burger and it was totally raw in the middle, this pic is with just one bite out of it, when we cut it open it was even worse...



The owner told us that is how they always serve it and how it's supposed to be. Which is crazy because I've had it before and it was not raw... Chef didn't want to refund it, and the owner finally allowed a refund. (Totally lost my appetite after that...) It was just raw ground beef inside it...

The owner did apologize that we didn't like it medium done and sorry it wasn't to our liking. 

Does anyone think that is a medium?

And this was even worse than this, dish that they told us was the most amazing piece of meat slow cooked for 2 days, etc. It tasted worse than it looks...



We didn't even ask for a refund for that as it just wasn't our taste, I suppose , sent it back with a tiny bite out of it, smelled terrible as well.

Anyway if you end up eating at Chez Rene Et Gabin, just stick to some simple foods and let them know exactly how you want it cooked.

(This is all besides the waiter not knowing what anything was so he was totally useless and slow.)

Lol agree with you on the burger, but for the second dish, from the pic it's look like a Pkalia it's a Tunisian food, we the askenasim will not like it ..
it's oil with oil and oil and a small portion of meat lol

Update re Rita's: They will offer Kleins C"Y ice cream in just chocolate and vanilla as well as all the other non C"Y options.

That's a real shame, and a huge lost opportunity for them. You have thousands (likely tens of thousands) of cholov yisroel customers walking right past that store every year.

I really wish this place was good, I'd eat there all the time, unfortunately I gave them a few tries and they struck out for me. Their attitude about the burger was the worst part though...

And they don't seem the type to do fresh ground beef, likely from a frozen ground beef package, but I didn't ask.
