JJ1000's list of top restaurants and dishes in Miami:

1. Backyard BBQ (New chef in mid 2017 totally new menu): Burnt ends, 2nd cut brisket, Dinosaur Rib, BBQ Sundae, BBQ Burger.

2. 26: Sushi pizza is  a must I prefer it with baked salmon, then the Passion Mojito, Sushi Teriyaki tempuraed, Cilantro Aioli dip and truffle fires, all of their soups are good. Miso Bass is incredible as well.

3. Harbour Bistro, new menus in early 2018: Chicken and waffles just perfect, duck a l'orange pot stickers, millionaire ramen, lamb shank, charcuterie platter if that's your thing... Also serving brunch, Chicken and waffles again, eggs Benedict with bacon on top,

4. Fuego: Flatbreads are a must, then the back ribs, pastrami egg rolls, smores dessert, perfect date drink are good. (Update March 2017, the app chef and bbq chef isn't there anymore and the quality has been spotty from recent reviews.)

5. Zak The Baker. Menu changes too often to recommend stuff. Not Cholov Yisroel.

6. Kosh: Chocolate souffle and korean beef with extra sauce are good.

7. Rustiko: Spinach and Artichoke Dip, (Quinoa Salad is very good), (Pappardelle Mushroom if lunch), Mushrooms Panzerotti is an absolute must order only down side is it's a dinner only item. Oreo cheescake dessert but make sure it's fresh.

8. Harbour Grill: The Harbour Grill Filet or TheKing Reserve steaks are great. Supreme Burger is very good as well.

9. Pizza type options:

Foozo: Foozolis, the caprese foozoli with extra balsamic sauce and garlic aoili, their pastas are good as well.

Jerusalem Pizza: Best plain pie, get it fresh in store, coated fries good as well.

Lenny's pizza: Gan Eden Pie.

Also notable unique places are The Freeze which makes ices, serendipity makes ice cream (there is one next door to ZTB now), and Miami Beach Chocolates turtles and bark now also in Surfside!

Just tape down the door lock in any hotel on shabbos, and put up the DND sign...no biggie.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

or use a piece of strong cardboard lying around that wont let the tongue of the lock to get into the hole and put the DND sign out

then it helps if you arent staying at either The Westin Europa & Regina in Venice or The Marriott Berlin as they simply entered the room in Venice  shut the lights I left on and turned on those I turned off along with the TV and made up the room.and put the DND on the inside of the door. I was Mad especially as House keeping said they only noticed the door was open (Impossible) and shut it. In the end although I was staying on 2 free weekend certs , I got 24k in pts for the 2 nights I was there, still mad just not as much

Berlin wasnt as bad as they left me notes on my door they came by for Turn Down and then the same in the morning. they knocked I was in shul and I guess the door opened so they closed it (Locked now) got security to let me in no one spoke good enough English and I wanted to make sure the sceurity guy who was Russian wasnt Jewish Housekeeping was an Arab, Ok never thought Id be glad to see an Arab. Once in they wanted me to show them my ID its in the safe. The security guy saw my carry-on and address tag and saw it matched the name registered for the room and said no problem

only 2 times I ever had a problem

now I simply let the front desk know I dont want to be distrub (Im distrub enough already LoL) from whatever time it is that I call then till Sun morn unless I call and ask for something. tried it for the 1st time @ The Imperial in Vienna and no problems , once the maid saw me leaving the room (heading for Mincha Shabbos afternoon) and asked if I needed anything as she was told not to bother me or even knock. said thanks everything is perfect as is, would I like Turn down later that night, I said No Thanks wasnt sure if I would be out of the room when they came around, as Shabbos ended late

I never meant to beg you; I just think that since you are often in Miami (I believe), it would simply be possible for you to go in there a couple of minutes and ask to see a room, so that way you can make your own decision, without relying on me or on FT reports. I still maintain that the location is great for Shabbos for someone that davka wants to book with spg, and until you see the property yourself it's not nice for someone to badmouth a frum yid's property and ruin his business, based on gossip on FT. That's just my humble opinion; correct me if I'm wrong, please.

I still maintain that the location is great for Shabbos for someone that davka wants to book with spg, and until you see the property yourself it's not nice for someone to badmouth a frum yid's property and ruin his business, based on gossip on FT. That's just my humble opinion; correct me if I'm wrong, please.

You are wrong. if the frum owner couldnt care 1 bit about those who stayed there be they Frum Yidden or Goyim, I dont care 1 bit for his place.

I cant believe that everyone on FT and TA who blasted the place are doing it for No reason what so ever, even brooklyncpa called it a DUMP. Maybe you dont mind dumps, I do

this isnt the 1st place Ive refrained from not going to, If 1 or 2 or even 3 people knock a place Id agree with You, but its a heck of alot more people then that. If a kosher restaurant I see is filthy maybe I shouldnt say anything after all the owner will lose biz

If anyone is ruining the 4Ps biz its the owner!!! For not cleaning the place up and probably has no intent to do so either , after knowing about how the place is talked about he would have.

No question 41st St is a great location but B"H there are plenty of other clean Hotels around 41st St where a person can stay then that DUMP.

If a person davka wants SPG Id send them to The Dip or tell them to trade someone SPG pts for Marriott pts and stay either at the Eden Roc on 45th or the CY on 36th. Thusly they get 41st St and dont have to pay for it at the same time

If I remember correctly it was you and 1 other person who didnt mind the 4P against 10s of people who called it a DUMP and to stay away. Ive been to some of the otehr places they said were DUMPs before they were there and they were 100% correct.

Now if you dont mind it as it is, you are perfectly free to stay there all you want

BTW I dont get to Miami nearly as often as you might think I do. Maybe for a couple of days ever couple of yrs. I usually do LA alot more EQMs for a few bucks more. Id get to LA maybe 10x a yrn if not more , last yr probably closer to 20x. Last time in MIA was 12/08 just after the Eden Roc reopened  but the new tower wasnt ready as of yet.

this is a reasonable request (yes that means the otehrs were not)

However I remember the last time I was at the Sans Souci when it too was owned and runned by a supposingly Frum Yid. They just finished a few mil renov of the Lobby and it showed. But the rooms were TERRIBLE and smelled from Mildew and the Bathroom was full of Mold. During lunch a pipe burst somewhere and that meant no AC what so ever.

MS I asked about repairs and was told probably Sun morn as it was very expensive to get someone on MS.BTW this was in Aug!!! They didnt want to refund me even for my Sat night and even charged me for parking. We left and I disputed the charge and got my $$ back

Pt is just cause it looks nice doesnt mean the rooms are. Doesnt pay to ask to see a room as most likely they give me the keys to a room thats OK. What I would need to do is spend some time and either hope a maid lets me see a couple or ask those staying there their opin.

But I trust the Olam at FT, they havent steered me wrong yet. Dont always agree with them but never found that they totally missed the Mark either

I ve stayed at the 4 points and the suite was clean and decent, and a great oceanfront view! Any specific questions let me know. If I had a choice would pick Diplomat, but in the 41 street area its not as bad as everyone is making it out to be

Thanks for seconding my opinion, and it's good to hear someone say something nice about the hotel. After all, both of us were actually at the hotel, and we are describing a first-hand experience.

I have stayed there a few times. The room doors are all electric, no option for manual. When you open the balcony sliding doors the air conditioner turns off automatically. I was able to have the hotel disable the sensor on the balcony doors. As far as getting in the room, the staff was extremely accommodating every time I needed their help. There is a chabad close by (less than 10 min walk) which has a minyan Friday night and shabbos day, as well as shabbos meals.

Thanks for seconding my opinion, and it's good to hear someone say something nice about the hotel. After all, both of us were actually at the hotel, and we are describing a first-hand experience.

Unfortunately I stayed there as well, last year was suppose to be there for a week left after 1 night. The place is a dump as others have already said. No other room was available. I did speak to 1 person who said after switching rooms 3 times they finally got a sort of decent room

I guess its like the lottery, the chances of getting a decent room is very slim but some do, just not enough of them.. But I think both sides so far are correct

If a person wants only starwood and to be by 41st St theres no real choice but this dump. I like the idea of finding someone with marriott pts and trade them my starwood pts for their marriott pts and stay at the Eden Roc. Staying at either The W or Diplomat over Shabbat doesnt do it for us as we dont want to daven by Chabad. So I can see where someone might bite the bullet and stay at the dump 4Points for Fri & Sat nights then get out of there ASAP, in order to beable to avail themselves of what 41st st has to offer, but in my opin they have to be nuts to stay there any other time. and staying Fri/Sat nights would only be if they cant get anything else for the same money $0
