JJ1000's list of top restaurants and dishes in Miami:

1. Backyard BBQ (New chef in mid 2017 totally new menu): Burnt ends, 2nd cut brisket, Dinosaur Rib, BBQ Sundae, BBQ Burger, Lemon/Apple/Smores desserts.

2. Fuego: Flatbreads are a must, then the back ribs, pastrami egg rolls, smores dessert, perfect date drink are good. (Update March 2017, the app chef and bbq chef isn't there anymore and the quality has been spotty from recent reviews.)

3. 26: Sushi pizza is  a must I prefer it with baked salmon, then the Passion Mojito, Sushi Teriyaki tempuraed, Cilantro Aioli dip and truffle fires, all of their soups are good.

4. Zak The Baker. Menu changes too often to recommend stuff. Not Cholov Yisroel.

5. Kosh: Chocolate souffle and korean beef with extra sauce are good.

6. Foozo: Foozolis, the caprese foozoli with extra balsamic sauce, their pastas are good as well.

Also notable unique places are The Freeze which makes ices, serendipity makes ice cream (there is one next door to ZTB now), and Miami Beach Chocolates turtles and bark.

How did you like the Kosher Kingdon food?
I heard the meal is good, but not exactly $75 good or whatever the number is it costs. Jbtw flights were going to NY today ;)

We bought takeout from Kosher Kingdom for the full Shabbos (except cholent) last week. It was great, but took forever to buy and they were out of potato kugel (we survived). Assuming there is ever a next time, I would check a suitcase and bring as much as possible of Shabbos food with me. Multiple people I met over Shabbos agreed with this - either they've been doing this for years and already know to bring the food with them, or have decided to do so for the future

I know, the problem is when I called they couldn't get me a seat on any flight that would get there on time for Shabbos or it had a very long stopover which o didn't want to do as we're travelling with a baby.
I even tried just buying a one way ticket but nothing available

I landed at 1 am, Thursday night wasn't an option. This was last Friday, thought Yeshiva week was the one before that?

I've gotten a few inquiries about Turnberry via PM so I figured I will write a bit more about the place here.

Would Turnberry be an option for Shabbos? Do they have the option of Manual locks, do they have auto light and cooling?

I don't think there was manual lock. I don't know about the other stuff

Was excellent (and had no wait at the deli counter at 5:00 pm on Thursday). Our kids loved the meat and turkey meatballs. The thin sliced London broil was very popular as were the mashed sweet potatoes, eggrolls, and stuffed chicken bottoms. We also picked up Prosciutto and other interesting cuts at Harbour Bistro + babka at Levy's. With young children, eating at the hotel was much easier (and economical) than trying to go out somewhere.

As an aside, we never took the kids out to restaurants after about 5:30 (and usually went out for lunch with them if at all). I was amazed by the number of people taking really young kids out to restaurants (including more upscale places like Kosh and Harbour Grill) and having a miserable time keeping their over-tired 2-3 year olds from running across the tables.

We traveled with just an infant and had a babysitter come to our room most nights while we went out to eat.

Awesome! Ya I've gotten shabbos food from them 2 or 3 different times and really enjoyed it every time.

Ditmas in Boca has been open for about a month.
Easily the best food in Boca. Make sure to make a reservation.
The menu changes daily but they run out of a lot of dishes before the night is over. No cocktails unfortunately.
4.5/5.
Any other reviews on Ditmas?

I just spent a long weekend in the Confidante. Anybody who is interested in updated info on DSUs, kosher breakfast, shabbos, and their best available rooms feel free to PM me. Big time HT to mochjas for making it happen and working with me throughout!
