JJ1000's list of top restaurants and dishes in Miami:

1. Backyard BBQ (New chef in mid 2017 totally new menu): Burnt ends, 2nd cut brisket, Dinosaur Rib, BBQ Sundae, BBQ Burger, Lemon/Apple/Smores desserts.

2. Fuego: Flatbreads are a must, then the back ribs, pastrami egg rolls, smores dessert, perfect date drink are good. (Update March 2017, the app chef and bbq chef isn't there anymore and the quality has been spotty from recent reviews.)

3. 26: Sushi pizza is  a must I prefer it with baked salmon, then the Passion Mojito, Sushi Teriyaki tempuraed, Cilantro Aioli dip and truffle fires, all of their soups are good.

4. Zak The Baker. Menu changes too often to recommend stuff. Not Cholov Yisroel.

5. Kosh: Chocolate souffle and korean beef with extra sauce are good.

6. Foozo: Foozolis, the caprese foozoli with extra balsamic sauce, their pastas are good as well.

Also notable unique places are The Freeze which makes ices, serendipity makes ice cream (there is one next door to ZTB now), and Miami Beach Chocolates turtles and bark.

If over half their menu is dry aged items I'd say it's a focus. Btw the Texas Brisket sandwich was super dry, had to add lots of sauces to eat it. Overall not impressed. Although I had high expectations.

im not a restaurant apologist, but you ordered takeout right ? imho some restaurants just really dont do well if their food isnt eaten on the spot

Food was eaten within 10 minutes of being ready... Pastrami was great, beef cheek was very very salty for my taste, ruben and texas brisket both dry (the bread doesn't help), the short rib on the risotto was dry as well. Entirelly possible it's my taste, but that's all we can judge on at the end of the day. If you like dry salty food I understand why it would be amazing. I like moist food and not crazy salty.

Butcher
You pay a premium (as you do at any butcher in SoFlo) and some cuts it's way too much like veal, but I've been very happy with kosher kingdom's butcher.

Salmon, Salad, Sides, Desserts.

ETA: Just realized you said vegan not vegetarian. So that leaves just a plain salad, some sides green beans, mashed potatoes (Both very good), and desserts :)

Never knew they even had direct from LGA , so looks like only 1 on Shabbos interesting.
