JJ1000's list of top restaurants and dishes in Miami:

1. Backyard BBQ (New chef in mid 2017 totally new menu): Burnt ends, 2nd cut brisket, Dinosaur Rib, BBQ Sundae, BBQ Burger.

2. 26: Sushi pizza is  a must I prefer it with baked salmon, then the Passion Mojito, Sushi Teriyaki tempuraed, Cilantro Aioli dip and truffle fires, all of their soups are good. Miso Bass is incredible as well.

3. Harbour Bistro, new menus in early 2018: Chicken and waffles just perfect, duck a l'orange pot stickers, millionaire ramen, lamb shank, charcuterie platter if that's your thing... Also serving brunch, Chicken and waffles again, eggs Benedict with bacon on top,

4. Fuego: Flatbreads are a must, then the back ribs, pastrami egg rolls, smores dessert, perfect date drink are good. (Update March 2017, the app chef and bbq chef isn't there anymore and the quality has been spotty from recent reviews.)

5. Zak The Baker. Menu changes too often to recommend stuff. Not Cholov Yisroel.

6. Kosh: Chocolate souffle and korean beef with extra sauce are good.

7. Rustiko: Spinach and Artichoke Dip, (Quinoa Salad is very good), (Pappardelle Mushroom if lunch), Mushrooms Panzerotti is an absolute must order only down side is it's a dinner only item. Oreo cheescake dessert but make sure it's fresh.

8. Harbour Grill: The Harbour Grill Filet or TheKing Reserve steaks are great. Supreme Burger is very good as well.

9. Pizza type options:

Foozo: Foozolis, the caprese foozoli with extra balsamic sauce and garlic aoili, their pastas are good as well.

Jerusalem Pizza: Best plain pie, get it fresh in store, coated fries good as well.

Lenny's pizza: Gan Eden Pie.

Also notable unique places are The Freeze which makes ices, serendipity makes ice cream (there is one next door to ZTB now), and Miami Beach Chocolates turtles and bark now also in Surfside!

#2020 Restaurants with outdoor seating

Soho - large semi enclosed patio, perfect for a rainy day

Fuego - large semi sheltered area outside the restaurant, indoors area has a new $20k air filtration system

Mozart Sunny isles -  large semi sheltered area outside the restaurant

Foozo - streetside tables

Zak The Baker -  streetside tables

Cine Cita, Backyard BBQ, Street Kitchen, 26, Kosh - streetside tables on Harding Ave

I don't see any that do. You can always try to order from a restaurant and have a regular Uber bring it.

will the Aventura ones bring to Fort Lauderdale. The other week I was there and as soon as I landed the plane was waiting on taxing to the gate so I ordered from pita place. by the time I walked out of baggage claim the guy was there waiting with my burger.

Okay, redirected from Bermuda thread. DW decided if we're just hitting the water, may as well go to Miami area and not have to bring food (even though she's usually the "let's pack homemade chicken burgers and meatballs, like we did in Kaui" and I'm the one reading the Backyward BBQ menu in my free time, but go figure).

Going next week Sunday to Wed. Decided to blow 90K on St regis Bal Harbour bc we only travel alone together every few years so YOLO. Few questions:

1) Any updates on the valet parking workaround? Is there local parking within walking (or cheap uber) distance? Is parking at the mall lots still "do-able"? Is it cheaper to just Lyft everywhere than renting a car?

2) I read many food reviews on this thread. I was thinking Harbour Grill (no onion rings), Fuego, and Backyard BBQ for dinners and 26, Carrot, and maybe Kosh for lunches? Does that sound right? Anything that should be switched in or out?

3) Activities - We're looking for 2-3 activities, and probably more water-based (weather permitting) than theme park type (e.g. Seaquarium, Jungle Island, etc). Something like kayaking and snorkeling type stuff. Any rec's, preferably near Bal Harbour?

Thanks so much!

Since youíre staying in a resort hotel on the beach walking distance to the kosher restaurants and shuls, youíre probably better off using Uber or Lyft than over paying for parking. I agree with your 3 dinner choices, but would switch to something lighter, diary/fish, for lunch and certainly eliminate Kosh. For kayaking and snorkeling you would probably have to go further south, like Key Biscayne.

Nothing easy for parking, you could probably just Lyft around.

Activities - We're looking for 2-3 activities, and probably more water-based (weather permitting) than theme park type (e.g. Seaquarium, Jungle Island, etc). Something like kayaking and snorkeling type stuff. Any rec's, preferably near Bal Harbour?

Thanks so much!
Rutiko or cinna citta are good lunch options.

Oleta state park is 10min away and has kayaking. Haulover park has family bike rentals on the beach, that's 4min away. Haulover also has jet ski and boat rentals I think. Walking around the shops accross from the st regis is an activity as well.

And no real good options for parking, depending on your rental price, you are probably better off with Lyft, also just to note if you wait 2 weeks you'll save a small fortune of SPG points when prices come down.

But OP could book now to lock in availability and then call for adjustment if check-in date is after the change, correct?

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.
