JJ1000's list of top restaurants and dishes in Miami:

1. Backyard BBQ (New chef in mid 2017 totally new menu): Burnt ends, 2nd cut brisket, Dinosaur Rib, BBQ Sundae, BBQ Burger.

2. 26: Sushi pizza is  a must I prefer it with baked salmon, then the Passion Mojito, Sushi Teriyaki tempuraed, Cilantro Aioli dip and truffle fires, all of their soups are good. Miso Bass is incredible as well.

3. Harbour Bistro, new menus in early 2018: Chicken and waffles just perfect, duck a l'orange pot stickers, millionaire ramen, lamb shank, charcuterie platter if that's your thing... Also serving brunch, Chicken and waffles again, eggs Benedict with bacon on top,

4. Fuego: Flatbreads are a must, then the back ribs, pastrami egg rolls, smores dessert, perfect date drink are good. (Update March 2017, the app chef and bbq chef isn't there anymore and the quality has been spotty from recent reviews.)

5. Zak The Baker. Menu changes too often to recommend stuff. Not Cholov Yisroel.

6. Kosh: Chocolate souffle and korean beef with extra sauce are good.

7. Rustiko: Spinach and Artichoke Dip, (Quinoa Salad is very good), (Pappardelle Mushroom if lunch), Mushrooms Panzerotti is an absolute must order only down side is it's a dinner only item. Oreo cheescake dessert but make sure it's fresh.

8. Harbour Grill: The Harbour Grill Filet or TheKing Reserve steaks are great. Supreme Burger is very good as well.

9. Pizza type options:

Foozo: Foozolis, the caprese foozoli with extra balsamic sauce and garlic aoili, their pastas are good as well.

Jerusalem Pizza: Best plain pie, get it fresh in store, coated fries good as well.

Lenny's pizza: Gan Eden Pie.

Also notable unique places are The Freeze which makes ices, serendipity makes ice cream (there is one next door to ZTB now), and Miami Beach Chocolates turtles and bark now also in Surfside!

Idk about must have but millionaire ramen, or some other ramen, chicken and waffles, also when are you going?

They have 3 totally different menus.

Sunday for dinner.

Looking for some help here. I’m flying into Fort Lauderdale early feb, then Driving across the state to Marco island for a conference. I’m looking for somewhere near the airport where I can pick up a few days worth of decent food. Any place nearby with a decent takeout/bakery where I can get a few days food? Will probably be landing early to mid afternoon and driving straight to Marco island after, so I am trying to avoid going too far out of the way.

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

I don't know all of them, but Kosher Kingdom generally has a great deli counter with prepared foods.

Hey guys, gonna be in FL for a day for the first time this week. Staying in surfside. Looking for a day activity, and where to eat dinner. I read through the wiki. Is Backyard BBQ the place to go?

Depending on your time and budget, deep sea fishing can be fun. There are boats from Haulover (right next to Bal Harbour) that go quite often.
It can be a hit or miss though.

I'd say backyard is prob the place to go or 26 if you love sushi.

Jetski, kayak, or any water sport is always fun. Segway Miami beach can be fun too.

Dear @jj1000, As the Miami expert up here, how would you rate the experience of airboat tours, gator sightseeing and the gator shows, ever done that? Worth spending a day for that?

If you have kids, sure... Also Lion Country Safari up there. I've never done a gator show, Bow Fishing is fun for adults though, that I do.

Lol, it's a river right off the ocean, so no gators there... Can also get to the ocean and a decent beach with your kayak.

I booked Shabbat dinner for two at Kosh a couple of days ago (gave her my cc over the phone) and just realized that I was dumb and didn't ask for any receipt or confirmations number.  She took down my name and I'm assuming they just keep a list for when you walk in Friday night and I should be ok.

I guess I was just hoping I could get reassurance here that others have done this at Kosh with no problem.  I mean if I show up there and it's already Shabbat and they don't have my name, I won't be in a good place.  Should I call back and make sure I'm on the list and ask for some kind of email?  Do they usually send receipts or do they usually just take payment and you assume they have your name on the list?

TIA!

Print out your CC statement and highlight Kosh charge then you have all the proof.
