Didn't get any email, but checked "my orders", and see that it was cancelled... chatting with a rep now to see what i could get out of this...
Amazon emailed the seller for me asking them to fulfill it. The seller emailed me with the OP's email, but since my order had already been cancelled it was kind of an after-the-fact request to cancel.
Can I hold them to the order and have them fulfill it?
So Amazon said (and emailed me to confirm) that if I order it again for the current price of $26.77 they'll refund the entire amount. Since I have this assurance in writing either Amazon will honor it or AmEx will honor it. Either way I get a free bike light.
Same here. I counter offered by asking for a $25 Amazon credit since I was hoping to have the item before the weekend.
Her response: "I've issued a $25 promotional certificate to your Amazon.com account, which will automatically apply the next time you order an eligible item sold and shipped by Amazon.com and does not require a claim code. The promotional certificate doesn't apply to items offered by other sellers on the Amazon.com website and won't cover the shipping costs or any applicable tax of an order.
When using a promotion to buy eligible Kindle books or other digital products sold by Amazon Digital Services, the promotional funds will apply to your order automatically before another payment method is charged.
Your promotional balance doesn't appear in Your Account but will always display when you place an order for an item shipped and sold by Amazon. You'll see your available promotional balance at checkout when placing an order through the Shopping Cart."
I think that was well played!
