I got an email today saying that it was a price mistake and they've cancelled all orders and recalled all shipments but are giving a $50 Customer Care Gift Card.

Yup they did "return to sender" for my package too.
Thanks for notifying us about the $50 gift card, didn't notice it in the email

Spend $6, get it refunded and make $50, pretty sweet deal after all.

I didn't get a email but when I checked the tracking it said the sender requested it be returned to sender.

You actually got the credit? I got an email promising credit that will take 2-3 days. Also no refund as of now.

Looking at the email again, it never says they're refunding the $5.99. Just that they're giving us $50 gift card.

They can't just cancel an order and not refund you.
The $50 credit isn't a replacement, it's a goodwill gesture.
