Keeping it Together - The Shabbos Project

I was hoping that after last year's success in SA they would try something bigger.  This has potential to be amazing if the marketing is right.

No you don't. You keep it but not together with the rest of the Jewish nation. That's the point.

Whats the point? If it's for Kiruv than good for them, but still not interesting for most ppl here.

The idea itself is nice, it brings them together. Question is "will they keep another one?", they only see the Shabbos that is provided to them together with thousands(?) other jews. Will they keep a real Shabbos because of this?

One goal is to get people to invite other people who do not/ have not experienced the beauty of shabbos for that shabbos.
Aside from the tremendous value of keeping just one shabbos, who knows how many people will be inspired to do more even if its "just" to light candles in the future, date Jewish, support Jewish causes, give their kids pride in being Jewish etc...
How can that not be of interest to most people here ??

National Jewish Outreach Program has had "Shabbat Across America" for years!

Who are you to say that "them" (I find the term offensive) keeping one shabbos is not valuable. Great if "they" keep a "real" Shabbos, but last time I checked, the Almighty cherishes mitzvos from all of his children, no matter how small
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Every mitzvah is worth something, is it not?
And you need to show people the beauty of being Jewish. Spending a Shabbos with lots of people, enjoying a nice meal, meeting new people etc.
There has to be something positive and joyful to bring them closer to G-d.

Hey Hey! No offense to anyone!

I wrote "them" cause "I" and the people in my community are not made for this. Its for "them" not for "us".

Now start bashing me about Ahahvas Yisrul etc. ... But you can't deny that there is a difference. Is it better for your children to sit at the passover Seder with Bubby & Zeidy or to go eat it at the local Chabad? There are standards, thats all I wrote.

Now abut the Keeping It Together project you are right that it's very Chushev that they should keep even 1 minute of Shabbos. My question is if there is a long-term goal? Is it for this Shabbos and done? Will they start keeping Shabbos because they were at a commercial Shabbos table? Could be, I asked.

See my previous post. The beauty of Shabbos isn't meeting lots of people or enjoying a meal. Of course if they come for this reason lets say to a local Chabad they will get closer to Yidishkeit slowly. But from this commercial event? Could be.

I think the magnitude of the event def helps to inspire people. Anything that helps people build a relationship with Gd and make friendships with others that have like minded goals sounds great to me.

Sorry but your attempt to explain t yourself just makes you sound even worse. I am not from chabad nor do you have to be to want to help bring others close to hashem. What community does not want that or not "made" for that??
Also you're assuming that it all going to be commercials meals which is not. Necessarily true

I didn't say that one is not made to help out to bring other Jews closer to Yidishkiet. I said that not everyone is made to "receive".

They need to get people on the ground on college campuses to market this.  I really hope they go all out like they did in SA with billboards and TV ads.
