You called?  8)

I am not involved there day-to-day anymore; I left a few months ago.  I do know that the new CEO is trying to figure out how to keep the servers running for the original product despite the fact that the company is focused on telehealth / senior care now, and I guess this is what he decided upon.

Thanks for taking my call! :)
Good luck in whatever you're up to!

Do you know if the subscription model is just to keep the "servers running" or will there be further development of the product as well?

My pleasure.  Nucleus was a labor of love and I would have liked to have seen the product keep developing and adding new functionality.  Alas, wasn't meant to be.  It's hard to compete with Amazon, Facebook, et al.

I'm not sure about what the new model entails.  I know most of the recent innovation has been on the healthcare side (www.nucleuscare.com) but I really don't know.

Thanks for the kind words and good luck to you as well!

I purchased/have several of these devices, it feels kind of unfair to start demanding a monthly fee, after purchasing. I hope that is optional.

For some additional functionality I would consider it, such as access to spotify, timer to turn off (or schedule privacy mode) for Shabbos, ability to type in a song title to play (given Alexa's hearing issues) on amazon music, etc.

That looks very cool. A little pricey and you’re limited location wise to wherever your light switches are.

true, however with the amount of features it offers it can be well worth it
