Iphone6 and IOS 8 not compatible with ISIS/softcard
« on: September 19, 2014, 02:20:18 PM »
I started a new thread about this problem so that people can weigh in in one place about this issue. If there is another thread that deals with this issue, moderators please move this thread there and let me know where it is moved to.
That being said, we have a big problem here. I just ordered my iphone 6 and need to turn in the iphone5 to get the credit. I spoke with "pay with ISIS" and apple and both confirmed that the nfc chip is locked to only work with apple pay. Apple has no plans to offer any discounts for consumers to use this service. Amex/Serve already is contracted to support softcard and is trying to negotiate with apple but it will take many months (if at all) for them to work something out. There is no case for softcard to work with iphone 6 like the incipio wallet card we have now for the iphone 5 and 5s. What is one to do with this dilemma? Dan can you offer some pearls of wisdom please.

Switch to Android.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Iphone6 and IOS 8 not compatible with ISIS/softcard

Can someone help me understand this? I was planning on switching from BB to serve this weekend, but now I'm super confused.

I have a Verizon iPhone 5S (updated to iOS8 ) and an old 4S (not updated). Is the new issue going to be a problem if I get the cash wrap case for my 5S running iOS8?

Am I better off reactivating my 4S and buying the case for that initially? Then I'll switch the line back to my 5S and just do everything online, right?

Or am I simply misunderstanding? Since that's a total possibility too.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but as of 9/16 only existing ISIS wallet customers with iphones will be able to use the wallet (providing you DO NOT download IOS 8 on your device). I have done my homework on this. It's the end of a great thing for iphone users especially for those who got or are getting the iphone 6 or updated their existing 4 or 5 to IOS 8. I am waiting to get my iphone 6 until 10/4 so that I can get my last extra $500 cc load.

Cozmohoot had suggested that I get clarification from ddf about the extra $500 per month of cc load so I am putting it out there. CMIIAI (that's incorrect) but I am under the understanding that you can only load $1500 per month from a cc if you do it through the wallet. If you do it directly through serve the limit is 1K. He is under the impression that once you have it noted that you have ISIS on your serve account the extra $500 option stays.  I'd be a happy camper if someone can confirm that I am wrong about this.

Correct.
Have you actually loaded the 3x500 from your computer?

As long as you SIGN UP for Serve through ISIS wallet (not ADD your existing Serve card to your wallet) you can load $1500/month.  I added it in error so did my $1K 2 months ago, cancelled my card, waited the required 30 days and got a new Serve account through ISIS and all is fine.

And yes, I have loaded $1500 through my PC ($500 x 3) despite the fact $500 option is not showing in the add cash option.  My guess is, just like AP, this will disappear shortly as well and I'm also betting Amex Sever is going to jump on the Apple Pay bandwagon.

I also discovered IOS 8 isn't compatible.

It will work but not only on wifi. Needs to have a sim card. A secure sim.
