What a beautiful idea and long overdo thread.   This is perfect timing for Dan to go into the new year reading our hakaros hatov for all his efforts.

May the Aibeshter count these posts in His cheshbon of mida kneged mida.   May He bestow upon you and your loved ones the same chessed, patience, understanding, thoughtfulness, extra miles, life enriching amenities, and avenue for parnossah that you have given to us.  Thank you.  Ksiva v'Chasima toiva.

On that note,  I  would like to express my hakaros hatov and  thank shoprite for always having thier shelves stocked,  and being open at all hours.
Also Macy's for selling clothing them. Without them I wouldn't have any clothing to wear.

I love the site, and think the forums are invaluable....However, IMHO, thanking Dan is like thanking Chase for paying you interest on your savings account or target for selling you diapers. Its his job, his livelehood and how he (I assume) supports his family.

Just seems a little funny to me that all. To clarify, not criticizing, Dan seems like a tremendous guy and I love his site just thought this was over the top.

The above posters either think he does this site as hobby,  and there's no money being made,  or. . ..

Do you say thank you to the bus driver when you get off the bus? Or to the store owner after you check out,?
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Some people are niave. I'm not saying a thank you isn't nice,  but they're still niave.

I do but I don't get on the PA to let everyone know about it...

I do. But I dont believe it is the same thing. The bus driver is not compensated by driving me on the bus directly. Dan does not run the site out of the goodness of his heart (It is a good heart, again, not criticizing him!:) )

He makes money by us clicking on links, ads, page views etc.

Maybe I would be better off deleting the post.

Yes.
But  as puddles said,  he's just a worker. I don't call up the store owner or the bus company and thank them for proving me with bussing.

Well. But you agree that Dan is frequently going out of his way to feed his followers with deals and useful tips (Trip Notes etc.) even when he doesn't  get anything for it  ;) (besides some new followers)
