No go.

Many affluent Jews fly to TLV for Sukkos, many of whom often fly revenue F period. The fact is, there is a large influx of those types of pax in TLV, all of whom want to get home afterwards.

It's the only non-stop F service.

...Or UA rich jews. My father snatched a F saver award on that flight

It's the only non-stop F service; it's LY; and it's a scarce resource; of course it sells out.
Overall F:J ration in the market is not scarce. Many flights to Paris are 2 cabin also. Show me another city route where F is sold out before J.

Many very affluent Jews fly to TLV for Sukkos, many of whom often fly revenueF, period.
Precisely my point. They aren't flying only once a year and there are proportionally more of them flying to Israel than to Madrid.

As an aside, I'm willing to bet that there is not a single guy on those 4 flights who 'flies rev F period' and never used a mileage ticket. Probably a large portion are double mileage plat awards

IME LY F is much fuller than asian and European carriers. And thats even with the inferior seat.
Simple.
The Asian/Euro carriers charge 4x for F over J.
LY charges 2x for F over J.

Ah.. I got the convos mixed up... woops
How many of those F passengers are on miles?  LY seems to have, in general, many mileage seats available.

I don't think you're right. Both F/J to TLV are cheap but the ratio is relatively similar.

I'm not talking about the overall market being scarce; I'm talking about F service home from TLV immediately following sukkos being scarce, and it is.

This is just not a good example as evidence to prove that the F market to TLV is "strong."

Precisely my point. They aren't flying only once a year and there are proportionally more of them flying to Israel than to Madrid.

You'd lose that bet.

Sure, he sometimes uses his own miles, but he doesn't futz around if availability is an issue.

F is not scarcer than J on that night compared to global F:J supply ratios yet selling faster. Hence demand for F is greater in proportion to supply than J. How are you disagreeing with that?

Plenty of ppl who don't know what a mile is and don't care what the price is. My point was nobody who isn't being sold mileage tickets.

11/11-11/18:
JFK-TLV J: $3,200
JFK-TLV F: $6,300
JFK-HKG J: $7,200
JFK-HKG F: $28,000

IIRC, that's the story with CX, but LH, even SQ don't charge that much more for F.

Perhaps the busiest travel period ex-TLV of the year? That'd hardly be representative.

That's like looking for a hotel room during Comic con.
+10000

In the winter you can find some flights 80% full in J and 80% empty in F.

I thing LYs top elites get upgraded from J to F.

F is not scarcer than J on that night compared to global F:J supply ratios yet selling faster. Hence demand for F is greater in proportion to supply than J. How are you disagreeing with that?

We must not be understanding each other.

F service from TLV-NYC the days immediately following Sukkos is very, very limited. One airline, few flights. That's it.

There are people who are going to be in TLV over Sukkos who only wish to fly F. The fact that J is open is irrelevant to that group of people. As you can see from loads, there are likely more people wanting to fly F during that period than there are seats for sale.

Comparing this very atypical period to "global F:J" routes is a red herring which doesn't help to prove your theory that TLV is a strong F market.

You simply cannot extrapolate any meaningful data from what is perhaps the busiest travel period of the year ex-TLV... aside from proving that F sells well during that period.
