I gave my cards to a site owner to swipe while I wasnt there. He swiped each card for 10, 10.25, 10.75. Don't really care about the extra 8 bucks it is the principle of the matter.

I had 5 cards by the guy, so it came out to like 14 dollars.  if anyone wants to chase quickpay that to me they are welcome

You're lucky you only gave him 5. People might have given him 100-200 cards.

I'm not justifying them doing it without your pwermision, however every merchant paid about 6% on an SBS transaction because of the % and swipe fees Amex charges, so cut them some slack please.

He was not complaining, in fact he advertised for it. Just pointing out that it does eat into their profits, especially for a business that people would use anyway (like a grocery store out of town, which is the only one in the area)

I would totally understand a business that decided to charge a few cents per swipe. I don't think it would be a wise decision on their part, the laws of the free market would just send all the customers to stores that didn't charge (as the owners of Empire Grill discovered this year), but I could totally understand it. What I believe the above posters are complaining about is the way it was done, without letting the swipers know.

I don't think we have to list all the stores that GAVE you your pennies, that's the normal thing to do, it's the stores that kept it for themselves that are the issue...
