I called Amex last year. It goes by mountain time not eastern time.
The question is if it goes by PDT not if it goes EST.

Amex said 12 Mountain. However, I live in LA, and did my swipes at 11:05-11:10 Pacific. Got the credits when the charges posted.

I don't know why it can't just go by local time. Not that HI and AK have a large population, but if it goes by MST, that's only 9pm in HI, 10pm in AK and 11pm on the West Coast. Why should everyone there get cheaped out of 1, 2, or 3 hours of SBS (since most people, especially frum people, don't/can't start spending the night before at 9, 10 or 11pm respectively).

It would be tough for AMEX to match the credits to local time.

I'd say there is a decent chance that it might even credit through 11:59 HST for everyone, though PST would be the safer bet.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Why would it be tough to match to local time? Does that mean that (hypothetically) people in PST can start spending at 11p the night before through midnight the next day?

Dan goes by PGFHGS. Which is what will probably eventually happen. Eventually they will crack down and someone will need to be a korban. On that day you may be happy you didn't overdo it

Even if the aus are not real people as long as you can pass an fr it's fine. I never heard of anyone being shut down due to unexplained aus
Well now you have. Friend of mine was shut down a few years ago after being unable to provide SSNs for AUs during an fr.

I don't understand why people don't order 99 au's on there name. Of if shows up on you credit report. Just take care of it.
Why make things complicated for yourself ?

My BIL ordered a bunch of au's, the rep asked why do you need so many. He said he wants to keep track of different spending. There rep did not buy it. So he said the truth. " I want to maximize my sbs savings. " the rep said ok
