Left right and center it seems that the concensus of the unwashed masses is that anyone with dozens of more cards may have used fake names and committed some kind of fraud

considering that the card was spelled "Nimroid" tells me that it was not someone with that original name at birth...

Kinda random, but I was short 3 emails, I just noticed that those 3 ended up in my spam folder for some reason.

I went through my accounts. I gave a handful of cards to a store.
Most of them they charged correctly.
2 cards they only swiped twice and another 2 they swiped 4 times.
im hoping amex will manually credit the $20.
worst comes to worst ill have spent $20 on all this...still come out ahead

i gave a handful to a store and had a bad experience as well. they swiped twice only. one i got emails  for and the other was posted on 11/30 so good luck getting refunded. and forget about the 3rd swipe which i'm not sure why didn't show up on my c.c. but store says they did....i guess i wasn't meant to luck out.  not sure how it happened like this cuz all swipes were done one after another.

did you get the confirmation emails for registering
because i think I just had a typo when I registered one of my cards so thats why I didnt get the emails

This is my first year, and we did 47 cards all under my name and wife's.  Most of the SBs understood what we were doing, and they facilitated.  Got turned down by a couple thinking it was fraudulent even after i had explained to them.  Some systems wouldn't split bills or tellers didn't know how to, so we had a few voids/returns and reswipes.  Hopefully, there'll be no issues.  Either way we came out way ahead.  Thanks to all for the info.

BTW if Amex is really interested in stopping this "abuse" what's stopping them from just changing the offer to $25 off $50 or something like that (like most other Amex offers and IINM like SBS Australia)? I doubt anyone will swipe 900 cards then...
