From scratch, construct.
Some do some don't.
These days most people buy modular panels that can be put together easily

Thanks, its the size of my deck. I put the succah panels on top of the deck walls...
~18x18 - on my deck too. The previous owner put up permanent crossbeams for the schach, which also forms a frame for canvas/tarp together with the deck walls. So I just bought 3 mats, some tarps and bungee cords. Easy to store, easy to put up, plenty of room.

Lol. It's actually real easy bec it's a deck and the walls (3) are up already since its next to the house. It's kind of boxed in 3 ways. All I put up is a frame for scach.

That's all?  8) You make it sound like no big deal. My deck is a little less than 18x18 and the frame for the schach is up all year round. Somehow putting tarps up (using bungee cords and  ball bungees) on the 3 deck walls, getting the schach up and securing it takes me most of the day. I'd imagine if it was 15x35 I would need help to get it done in one day.

we have 5 mats. Sukkah is made into 5 sections. Each mat covers one section. Also I dont do tarps, if it rains it rains. No bungee cords/balls needed the exterior 3 house walls are sukkah walls.

Ooh, always wanted that. What's the 4th side? Deck wall or completely open?

Either way, a decent amount of the work and headache for me is securing the mats, and you have a lot more ground to cvoer than I do. What do you to make sure they don't blow away?

Never really had a problem. The mats are heavy and they go over the side. Also the deck is enclosed more or less by the house so doesnt realy blow. 4th side is open unless I close the curtains 😉. Suggestion for the mats though why not use those plastic tie things, can't reber what there called. It takes 2 seconds to put on and after YT take a scissor and just cut them off.

Zip ties / cable ties

It's fine you used regular language for before sukkos....  The thing that attaches the thing to the thing.....

If you hold maamid b'davar hapasul l'schach will pasul the schach, and that holding the schach down from the top (as opposed to resting the schach on something) is also maamid, then it's a problem.

My solution is to place bamboo poles on top of the mats along the beams supporting the schach, and then use the plastic cable ties around the beam and the bamboo poles, thereby sandwiching the mat between them. This would make the cable ties maamid d'maamid at worst which is mutar (AFAIK, except for the Chazon Ish who assurs even that). Only problem is that this is relatively annoying and hard to do (don't even try without gloves, you'll kill your hands).

These days they sell unchanged natural fiber/AKA string which you can use to actually tie the sechach. (Though some are machmir cuz of gezeiras tikra to only tie with an aniva and not a kesher gomur)
