Coming home late one motzai Shabbos, I leave all the bags on the floor, put the baby in the crib and hit the sack.

My wife wakes me up about 2 am saying she hears noises from the baby's room, I hear nothing. About 10 seconds later we both hear the door to our apt slam shut. My wife runs to the baby and I run to the door only to find the door closed and the chain from the chain lock dangling.

B'H the baby was fine and I was just trying to figure out how a locked chain can be unlocked from the outside. I played every scenario out in my head and no matter what I could come up with I saw no way that the chain can be slid out of its holder from the outside, by definition the more you open the door the tighter the chain becomes.

So far the facts on the ground are: my wife heard a noise in the baby's room and we both heard the front door slam shut. Since I couldn't wrap my head around the chain lock thing I felt weird calling the cops so I called my landlord who lived on top of us and after telling him what happened... he called the cops. They came, looked here and there saw nothing unusual and after asking tons of q's and looking some more they left.

It's now about 5am and too freaked out, my wife didn't want to stay in the apt so we left to her parents. I came back to the apt later to get my taalis and now that it was light out I notice that the window in the baby's room was open a tiny crack, when I look closer I see that the screen had been cut as well. Then it all made sense! The guy came through the window! So, there was no james bond sci-fi stuff going on with the chain because he was inside and left through the front door.

All in all, there was a perp in my apartment with me, my wife and baby all sleeping. Only G-d knows how close he was to the baby and thankfully nothing happened at all other then a ripped screen and a real scary couple of moments. The cops said he probably thought no one was home and when he saw the baby he just ran.

One more thing I always point out is that the there was a dresser by the window which had tons of stuff on it and he managed to get through the window and over all the stuff because none of it was moved at all. It was almost like he flew in.
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

That time I was in my dorm room in Jerusalem, listening to music at 3:30am while my roommates were fast asleep. The door opens, lo and behold a soldier walks in with full uniform and assault rifle slung over his shoulder. He walks to the middle of the room, spots my friends iPod, lifts it up and starts looking at it. Meanwhile I'm trying to pretend like I'm sleeping but at the same time turn over to make him think that maybe I'll wake up. After what felt like an eternity he puts it back down, and walks out of the room.

Do chains usually have enough space to get your hand in to do that?

well the time I got the most scars was when I was walking up a couple of outside steps to a porch and you know how brick steps have a sort of lip sticking out of each step, so I had my hands in my pockets walking up, and my foot caught on the lip. I was falling fwd and I cudnt get my hands out of my pockets fast enough and fell and hit my chin on the concrete porch. Ouch. Got a bunch of stitches. And some scars
nothings impossible- the word itself says Im possible

There was this one time I needed to do something so horrifying, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I spent hours upon hours psyching myself up and repeating motivating mantras. Then, eventually, I picked up the phone, and dialed the number.

You think that’s scary? That’s nothing. I once knocked on someone’s door.

It can be opened with a simple rubber band.
