i couldn't find the right forum on this. i always heard chase primary rental insurance is good, has anyone had positive results? i never had an issue thank god! but i always recommend this free feature as a selling point for people to get the csp or csr.

someone the other day told me he had the worst experience abroad, think in Israel. basically chase said you have to speak to there 3rd party and it took a few months of fighting with them and in the end they got nothing. i dont know all the details. but i just thought ill ask if anyone has positive or negative experiences making a claim?

I don’t know the details of your friends experience abroad, so I can’t explain why that was, but…
According to the chase sapphire preferred agreement, if the damage is from “Theft or damage due to hostility of any kind (including, but not limited to, war, invasion, rebellion, insurrection, or terrorist activities)” then won’t be covered.
I used the coverage, when someone totaled the rental I had from Hertz, and the other persons insurance didn’t want to cover more than 80% of the damage, (claiming the police report wasn’t conclusive that they were at fault).
So chase sapphire preferred covered $16,000!
Wasn’t that complicated to deal with.
