 Moral of the story is, that if it aint  problem, dont try fixing it.
Note: sometimes TSA does ask minors what their name is.

I didn't follow exactly, what was written on the ticket? Correct last name, misspelled first name?
Some of our usernames refer to our first names

I booked an AeroMexico ticket through an OTA that didn't give me the option of including a middle name. I attempted to have AM add the middle name to the reservation, but they said it would be a $150 name change fee. So, two questions:

1) Should I continue to HUCA until I can get them to change it for free?

2) If I show up to the airport and my middle name isn't on the reservation, but it's on my passport will I have trouble traveling internationally?

Did you try adding the middle name online where you enter passport info?

No you don't have to worry at all about a middle name only the first and last name have to be correct.

So, I called AA and they said that it was not an issue at all. Really no reason to do anything, and they couldnt change the ticket. But if I wanted , in the info that gets forwarded to TSA (?) they would change it to Mr. Just to be safe I also called BA. They said that they would submit the correction, could take 24 hrs. (the return flight was in 23 hrs, but she said it would be Ok.


On the return, since we had PA, we lined up to board right away, and yocheved'd ticket buzzed, and the screen said somethig like 'not allowed to board'.

Yikes.


Luckily there was a really nice Admiral Lounge agent nearby, who offered to look into it. Seems like when BA changed the ticket, they didnt properly reissue it. She researched the ticket #, and from there they were able to get Yocheved a seat. I didnt have much faith in the regular gate agent. He looked like the type that would tell me to call BA and have them straighten it out (and miss my flight).

If the kid is under 18 they don't need ID. As long as the flight is not international it doesn't make a difference what name you put on the ticket
