They usually dont show.

ETA: Showing up on mobile now as well. This might be a good sign. Hopefully it isn't a one night or one day thing

What does Dan mean by: "You are allowed to stay up to 24 hours as a connection, plus stay as long as you want as a stopover in addition to the destination you’re trying to reach on an award ticket"

I am not clear what this means, anyone mind clarifying?

He's explaining the difference between a connection and a stopover...

What don't you understand?

Trying to figure that out too. I know UA allows a free connection (which means under 24 hours) which is why it costs the same to fly JFK-WAW-TLV as it does to go direct JFK-TLV. (Obviously you think why on the world should it cost more to have to take a stop, but technically you are flying to a new place so you have to think of it as a nice thing that the connection is free. But anyway...) where does the stopover come into play? Can you take a stopover on each direction or only once per trip?

Ie can you do this?
JFK-WAW-ZRH-TLV and
TLV-WAW-ATH-JFK

You're allowed one stopover on a round trip award, and two open jaws (as UA awards are bookable as one ways).

So, you can stay in WAW for 23:59 as a connection, or use up your stopover and stay for days/weeks/months.

1) The 2 OJs are TLV at one end and JFK at the other?

2) Gotcha. But can you do WAW as a connection and then also go a new city as a stopover?
JFK-WAW(connection)-ZRH(stopover)-TLV-WAW-JFK?

JFK-WAW(connection)-ZRH(stopover)-TLV-WAW-JFK?

1)No a open jaw is flying into one city leaving from another, i.e., JFK-LHR(Stopover)-CDG(Open jaw) return FRA-JFK. It is kind of like two one way tickets (to/from different cities) to book them together so you can have a stopover
2) Yes, that would work.

Thank you. I follow now. But how can you do 2 OJs? (Forget the stopover for a second.) JFK-CDG (OJ) FRA-JFK. Where does the second OJ come in? (I understand AJK said book it as 2 OWs, but I still don't see how you could use 2 OJs.)

JFK-CDG then FRA-EWR.

JFK-CDG then FRA-EWR.
That's not using 2 OJs, that's just booking 2 OW tickets to/from different cities...

Yea but if you book to one way tickets you wont get the free stopover. Book them together and you have two open jaws and now you can make a stopover.
