One more... I see the Aloft is opening up now in Feb. What category is that? 24th & collins
Opens 03/19.
Category TBD.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hyatt deval Q:
If I use an anniversary cert to book a hotel that's now a cat 4 but will soon be a cat 5 and then later on I want to change the dates, will they let me still use the anniversary cert (i.e. did I lock in my ability to use the cert) or will they no longer accept it?

Am I entitled to diamond benefits if i'm a diamond member but stay on a priceline reservation or a reservation made by a non-diamond member? like club access etc.

It depends on rep at hotel. I've stayed under people's accounts that were not diamond and I recieved the benefits. Don't see why Priceline should be different.

So basically hit or miss?

Update: I just tried changing the date of my anniversary night at Baha Mar which was a cat 4 that today became a cat 5 and the rep was unable to. Computer didn't let her and neither did a manager. Was just trying it out for fun, looks like it can't officially be done.

After doing some research I think this is incorrect. If a diamond is staying in the room regardless of how the rooms was paid for...Diamond benefits get extended to occupants of that room.

The keywords are the diamond is "staying in the room". The hotel does not have to extend diamond benefits if the diamond member doesn't show up

I have had experience both ways. In China they wouldn't give my brother the diamond amenity until o showed up. In a lot of hotels in the US I have successfully booked people reservations and they got the benefits and amenitys.

I have a Hyatt award reservation under my name and my wife has Platinum status. I tried to book new reservation under her name and cancel mine but the rooms we need are no longer available. Any advice as what I can do to benefit from her status under my reservation? Will adding her name onto my reservation help? Thanks.

Nope
I know it can help by adding a diamond, so I don't see why doing it with a platinum would be any different.

If diamond member is staying in the room it works. At least it should as per policy.

Do I just add name to reservation or do I stick in her number as well?
