I have a free hyatt night expiring in August. As long as I call before the exp. date, can I book a reservation for September, or only till end of August ?

Maybe not anymore.
There have been reports that Hyatt has become much more stingy with extending CC award nights.

My question is, is that considered an extension. Meaning, does the free night cert. have to be used for a stay before exp. or just to make a reservation before exp. ?

That. (At least officially. I'm sure someone's been successful using it for a stay after exp.)

What does this "guaranteed availability" mean?

Simple as it sounds, they must offer you a room. IME from trying to do this its always really expensive. Also every hotel has 5 days a year were they don't have do guarantee to diamond members. At least that's what some hotel told me.

Thanks. Now I realize it's a guaranteed revenue room, not points room.

Hi,
I'm looking at staying at the new Park Hyatt in Zanzibar. Their standard rooms are still going for $355 because of their promo rate but the regular price would be $450. It is a category 5 and is 20000 points per night.
Is it a good use of points to use 40000 for 2 nights stay? I'm a newbie when it comes to hotels and points. How would I go about trying to get upgraded to a suite ($1300 night)? Online shows available for booking for cash but not for miles.

TIA

I just got an email from Hyatt that I can get 3,000 points after my first eligible stay at any Hyatt property. Did anyone else get this email? Does it really mean any like even a Hyatt House?

Does it define "eligible"?

Does it define "eligible"?

You must receive this offer from Hyatt and register by September 30, 2015. You will receive 3,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points after your first Eligible Stay from June 1, 2015 through September 30, 2015. A maximum 3,000 bonus points may be earned, regardless of the number of nights completed during the offer period. For the purpose of this offer, an “Eligible Night” is defined as any night where a member is paying an Eligible Rate, as defined in the terms and conditions of Hyatt Gold Passport, except that stays at M life resorts do not count as Eligible Stays under this offer. Hyatt Gold Passport members will only receive Eligible Night credit for their room, regardless of the number of rooms paid. You must provide your Hyatt Gold Passport membership number at the time of check-in and choose points or miles for your stay. Hyatt Gold Passport will automatically track Eligible Nights when you provide your Hyatt Gold Passport membership number. Please allow two to three weeks after your stay for bonus points to be posted to your Hyatt Gold Passport account.

I would like to stay 4 nights in the HR Vancouver since both my husband and I have the 2 free nights and its walking distance to chabad.

Since I need the capacity to sleep 5 I will need their suite to accommodate all. Any tricks to be upgraded?? I have no platinum status and no protektzia..

See how much the hotel would charge for an upgrade.

The problem is they can't promise me an upgrade.. They note the account to give an upgrade upon arrival if available..

Do you think it's smart to book the suite I want and cancel within 24 of arrival, In addition to booking the free night room??
