I was platinum and got upgraded.  It depends on availability
To a suite? Or just a deluxe room or whatever they call it.

HYATT -

We know how important it is to have up-to-date Hyatt Gold Passport account information. So, we wanted to let you know that from December 15 to December 18, 2015 we will be undergoing system maintenance and your account information will not be accessible during this time. How does this affect you?

What you’re able to do:

Earn points and stay/night credit toward tier status for all eligible stays
Earn points for eligible dining and spa services
    Book paid reservations

What you’re unable to do:

Cannot access your account information, including point balance and promotional awards, either online or by calling a Global Contact Center
Cannot redeem new promotional awards or points for free nights, room upgrades, or miles
    Cannot purchase or combine points

Any account activity accrued after December 12, 2015 will not be reflected on your account until the week of December 28, 2015. You can be assured that any points earned during this time will be credited to your account. We appreciate your patience during this time.

In order to transfer from Hyatt to Hyatt account, do I need to be making a reservation?
I transfered from my wife's account to my account last month without making a Reservation at the time

Wow. Never knew.
Yeah... I've never had to prove it was for a reservation.

The new GM at the PH NYC is Mark Purdue. His email address is mark.pardue@hyatt.com
Walter Brindell switched to Chicago.
I don't think Moira Merani was ever the GM, only an assistant.
I sent an email to Walter and he didn't respond. So went to Google real quick and saw that he moved to Chicago.

Googled around a bit more and came upon this post. Should've just checked DDF first.
Hey there! I am using DansDeals Forums.

What is the way to find out if a given Hyatt property a) has a suite to offer and b) if multiple, which would be the one that one gets for the DSU?

If available online then I believe available for DSU. Usually the lowest, if you call they will tell you
