Best of luck in the Indian courts.

You win some, you lose some. If this was a U.S. hotel, they might honor the mistake or give you a big discount to avoid a lawsuit and/or social media backlash. Never know, but a hotel in India is unlikely to do the same.

I figured the same, but I was hoping that since I bought from the US that we would have some kind of consumer protection.  My thoughts are to write up a nice response that states that I want to create a long lasting relationship with Hyatt, explain the reason for travel (anniversary), and how I will not be recommending Hyatt to friends and family should they not honor the rate.  Doesn't hurt to still try.  If they deny the request, I should still have the option to cancel as I am not getting what I purchased.

How long is the stay? At a discount of over $1,550 per night, they're probably not going to care much that you aren't going to recommend Hyatt to some friends. (And if you did the same thing last year, the odds are good that your account has been noted thusly.)

4 nights; still doesn't hurt to ask.  What else can be done?

Right, and not much. But that's a more than $6,000 discount/mistake, so you're probably not going to get the answer you want.

I'd be absolutely shocked if they don't, especially when it comes to potentially "problem" customers.

(Actually, it's been confirmed that Hyatt does this. See prior Reddit and FT threads.)

Just to clear things up, Amex had the glitch for the last deal in Chile, not Hyatt.  Hyatt was definitely compensated by them.  I was using this as an example of booking in the US for travel abroad and it being honored.  So, this would technically be the first situation with Hyatt directly.

Okay. The "glitch fare" people are essentially the churners of the airline/hotel world, so I wouldn't be surprised if airlines and hotels are trying to track them somehow.

Always a few days for me and on about 25% of them I have to call and resend directly to a Hyatt rep.

I'd start with a call and asking nicely.

You only get Hyatt credit for stays booked directly with Hyatt.
